The author (Jack Carr) is a bad guy who gets whacked in The Terminal List show in an early episode.
It is super interesting how different the terminal list show was from the book, yet still very good. Dark Wolf is better, and again with some far off character departures from the books, but it works.
Sticking to the books would have required at least twice as many episodes for the first series.

Agreed.
My point was, many authors would resist or be ambivalent about changing source material.
Carr seems engaged with it... whatever his initial thought, he's now taking this change, and doing what he can to make it as good as possible.

Supposedly he's on board with it and was very involved in the terminal list show. In the audio book there's a long prologue where he discusses the director, Chris Pratt, etc and how it all works. Im sure it makes it better when the author is party to the changes vs the total bastardizations we usually get.

They went all ghost recon with the latest episode. Good to see Pablo joining the cast too, he was awesome in Den of Thieves.

Yeah that was a great finale

Really enjoyed this show. Tempo was great- not too slow but not too fast loud and obnoxious if that makes sense. Also not a huge cast to track character development, so the plot was easy to follow and stay focused on.

This is without a doubt the best stuff Amazon has put out since Fallout, just an awesome experience. I didn’t realize this was going to be the season finale but it went out with a bang. I don’t think anything huge was spoiled for The Terminal List so for those who haven’t watched either you can start with Dark Wolf first.

This prequel was well done and kinda gives some perspective on the characters background from the first Terminal List. Reece was a different kind of person in this one. More loose and not as serious but still direct. Obviously a whole new perspective on Ben which makes the final outcome between Ben and Reece in Terminal List that much more shocking. Getting to know Bill a little better as a field ops CO. Actually seeing what kind of guy Booser is.

Really great show and looking forward to what they do next!

Was his character someone we know from the books? Or a new CIA character we hadn't met before?
Curious what they end up doing with Landry to show how he got to where he is in the books.

He was new to this show specifically, not in the books. However his boss is Vic Rodriguez, he mentions his name we don’t see him. That’s who Reece ends up working for after the first or second book.
Opens the door to future seasons of Dark Wolf i dependent of Termial List.

The show ending was different though right? The book ending would be extra f’d up with the context of Dark Wolf. I like Ben’s character in the shows. Would love to know if the alteration from the book was planned from the beginning or happened after they started filming Terminal List and realized they could expand his storyline.

Show Ben is a really far departure from book Ben. Landry less so, but still quite departed. Might stay that way.
Regardless, so far, I like it. There's tons of interesting characters in the books to bring in and a decade worth of show material pull out if they want.
I'm dying to see what Alice looks like.
