The sequels thread got me thinking...if you could re-do one sequel..

Which one? Why? And what would you have done differently?
I've always been a big fan of Alien/Aliens and am part of the majority opinion that David Fincher's Alien 3 was an unfortunate whimper of a trilogy climax.
Killed off two of the most likeable characters (Newt and Hicks) right off the bat.
Weird vibe that just didn't "fit" with the previous two movies.
Scaled the alien back to a singular threat. So basically just a rehash of Alien. It offered nothing new, except for the "race against time" aspect of Ripley being impregnated with a queen.
Didn't even bother to explain why/how the plot premise even occurred, and left it up to fan speculation. I.e..."so I guess queens can lay an 'emergency egg?'" etc.
What I would've done differently? Honestly, I'm not even sure that there needed to be a third movie, but I know that's a cop-out answer. So I'll give it a go...
I would've had the Sulaco re-enter Earth's orbit after years in transit, and Ripley, Hicks, and Newt are revived to find themselves "back home."
In the meantime, Weyland-Yutani, intrigued by a report Burke managed to send prior to his demise, paid a visit to LV-426 where they managed to capture some eggs from the space jockey ship and bring back to Earth for a bio-weapons program.
Ripley, Newt, and Hicks somehow get wind of this scheme and are now the "crazy conspiracy theorists" fighting a race against time to prevent an alien outbreak on Earth and finally put an end to Weyland-Yutani's plans.
Definitely needs some massaging, but I think that would've been a much more satisfying conclusion.

Breakin 2 Electric Boogalo.

Does it have to be a Sequel?
Because I would easily point to SW: Episode 1.
Starting Anakin off as a child and so on was a massive mistake, including midichlorians and all that.
Just start with Anakin as an apprentice almost fully grown and have a gradual shift to the darkside.

Sure, prequels are on the table too. Why not?

Was coming to post almost exactly this.
Also, if Jar Jar is going to exist, let's give him an excruciating death fairly early.

The Prequels also make no sense whatsoever in regards to what Obi says in A New Hope. It contradicts pretty much everything he said.
Make Anakin a freaking man. Make him a Jedi Master by episode 2 that is seduced slowly over time by the Dark Side. Build a real love story and tragedy.

Wakanda Forever.
Would have done Prince Namor justice, much more like the comics version and not the "reinvented" WOKE version (Atlantis, not Meso-American 'Talocan'; none of this 'Mexican/Mayan' Namor look with earrings, chestplate, goatee, feathers and bone through his nose; keep with the comics origin rather than the new WOKE "white people and religion bad" version.
More like this:

and not this:

Alien 3
The production was a mess. They started shooting without a completed script. Fincher was a young director who was bullied by studio execs.
In Fincher's own words:
quote:
"I didn't like the script, but I love 'Alien,' so yeah, I signed up, naive, and went off to Pinewood [Studios] to be sodomized ritualistically for two years."

Oceans 12.
I still love it but they really could have hit it out of the park with a more clever way for the group to steal the egg…. Seemed lazy ish but still and enjoyable movie.

Yeah, I’m familiar with the story and don’t mean to lay it 100% on Fincher. Just an unfortunate situation all-around. I feel like it’s the classic case of a great IP garnering an unhealthy amount of “too many cooks in the kitchen.”

I would remake True Detective season 2 and better tie all of the seasons together, eventually culminating in taking down the cult that the Tuttle's are involved in.
Best season of tv ever and then they killed all momentum.

Hannibal. Bring back everyone from SOTL, including directors and writers, and do it again. SOTL is nearly flawless; Hannibal is mostly ridiculous.
I like Julianne Moore a lot, but she didn't fit Clarice like Jodi Foster did.

IIRC, S. Weaver would not portray Ripley in 3 if there were going to be guns in it. Guns? No Sigourney.
Therefore, prison colony.
Gotta love leftists.

The Last Jedi.
Honestly, this is the one and only answer to this question. This really f——- up the entire story of Luke Skywalker, which is THE real
story of Star Wars.
I mean, Jar Jar, the Ewoks, bratty pod racer boy with a bad haircut, and even bringing the emperor’s dead body back can be worked around. This movie can’t. It damages
the franchise far more than any other.
I mean really, Caddyshack II sucked, but it didn’t mess up Caddyshack I like the last Jedi did to the original trilogy.

Jaws 3 needed a jaws vs shamu throw down
How the frick do you have a jaws movie at sea world without it?

It is
Been a long time since I read it, but it follows the book pretty well
The ending being the exception
Book spoiler:
I believe Clarice runs away with Hannibal at the end

Caddyshack 2
I would change everything except the steeplechase scene.
