The Exorcist, The Ring, Jaws, and Poltergeist are my tops.
Right after we saw The Ring my wife knew it had fricked with me so she decides to come out of the bathroom after taking a shower with her hair all in her face doing that creepy Japanese horror twitch walk. Yea frick her for that.

Was really high the first and only time I watched Sinister. Not too sure I ever want to watch it again. Scared the shite out of me.

Fire in the Sky.
I was 12 at the time and something about when he’s drug down the corridor and is examined by the aliens freaked me out more than any horror movie I can recall.

Chucky terrified me as a kid..I hate childish things being terrifying. Like clowns, demonized children, dolls. Freak me the frick out man. Don't know why...just unsettling as shite.

From my childhood, Jaws, Poltergeist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but the ones that always got me were Children of the Corn and An American Werewolf in London.
For whatever reason, this new wave of horror films in the last 15-20 years don’t teally scare me. I can enjoy them if they’re good movies with good stories, but I’d rather watch a good thriller for that adrenaline rush.
I recently watched The Excorcist from start to finish for the 1st time in years. Didn’t find it be scary as much as just a damn great film. I think the “horror” part of it overshadows just how good a film it is. Couple others from the 70s that I really like and still hold up as scary/creepy, whatever, are Rosemary’s Baby and the original Wicker Man.

Halloween jacked me up for years. I didn’t sleep in my room for weeks back then. The music still creeps me out a bit.

This and Frailty are the two horror movies that scared me away from watching horror movies.
