One of the very few where I was seriously uncomfortable at the theaters and scared.

Yup that movie fricked me up when I watched it the first time

Not sure I watched it in its entirety again. Scary movies aren't my favorite though. I don't like being stressed while watching a movie.

I remember loving it as a kid, but I don't watch scary movies as an adult. I don't even like villains in Disney movies.

Ruined my life for at least a week after both times that I watched it. Easily my #1 scariest movie and pretty much my measuring stick for all scary movies. Like literally, every scary movie I've watched since then I'll say, "it was pretty disturbing, but not as bad as the ring."

It really fricking got to me.

This.

Fvck every fvcking thing about that fvcking movie. I wouldn't watch it again for a hundred bucks.

Nope nope nope nope nope gif!

I've seen movies that were scarier (recently the conjuring) but the ring might be one the creepiest movie I've seen. Or at least creepy in a 'good' way. There are more disturbingly creepy movies but I try to steer clear of those. Just a really well made movie. The tone is perfectly drab and desperate.

Conjuring was a good movie, very entertaining but not even close to The Ring

I mean as far as pure cheap scares. The conjuring got me a couple times although the demonic possession thing is kind of old hat already. Those type of movies scare me more on first watch than generally creepy, dark movies. The creepy ones are the ones that stick with you though.

90 % of horror movies released these days, really, for the last couple of decades, are pretty awful. The Ring is pretty damned good, imo.

Underrated. It's actually better than the original. Completely effective. Terrifying. Smart and efficient.

Great movie.

Shocking no one, I completely agree with Freaux. I have a few minor quibbles from a storytelling standpoint (I think they dropped an interesting moral argument for pacing purposes), but this movie has one of the best twists of any movie I've seen, and its completely earned and organic.

I think it and The Descent are the two best horror movies of this century.

Meh, it seems "played out" because so many people do it terribly in movies nowadays

The 2 I enjoyed and were closest to reality were a recent one The Rite with Anthony Hopkins and The Exorcism of Emily Rose

The rest are laughable with regards to possessions etc

My favorite of the demonic possession movies. More disturbing than scary, but it was really disturbing.
