From what I gather from casual reading, IMHO, your conclusion that "we have not one single confirmed occurrence of anything supernatural" has been refuted by actual events during the process of exorcism.

WTF is this shite?? I have NEVER heard this and have been Protestant all my life. Had ministers in my family and NONE have ever said anything remotely close to this.

What denomination do you belong to? Not all Protestants believe the same thing.

Here's a link. This denomination teaches that the dead cannot and do not intercede for the living through Prayer.

Here's more from wiki to support my contention.

" With the exception of a few early Protestant churches, most modern Protestant churches strongly reject the intercession of the dead for the living, but they are in favor of the intercession of the living for the living according to Romans 15:30. "

It's not going to be a documentary. It's going to be another horror movie, so, it might be great entertainment. It won't be very useful information, though, unless people are inspired to read Amorth's books.

He's not the only exorcist who claims this. Matt Fradd interviewed an exorcist on his podcast and talked about that. He said that doing yoga for flexibility is fine, however it's when people use it for spiritual fulfillment that it invites the demonic.

So Amazon Prime picked up this movie and I watched it last night. I thought the first half was good but I thought the ending fell flat. Anyone else had a chance to see this movie yet?

I watched it yesterday and I had high hopes. I love a good exorcist movie. But this was just ok. Nowhere near level of The Conjuring saga. There were no real scary moments. More of a drama.

Well frick.

That is the problem with like 99% of exorcism/possession type movies. It's like they never know how to end them.

I'll check this out now that it's om Prime, but I'll lower my expectations a bit.

I watched and wasn't super impressed. The story and outcomes were way too predictable. Honestly found it kind of boring and ended up hoping that the demon won.

This is pretty much how I felt about it.

Did enjoy a Fat Italian Russell Crowe though.

I've spoken to 2 Catholic priests who have been a part of exorcisms. Both men I have a great deal of respect for and don't think they would just flat out lie to me. One of them also told me a Seminarian spoke to a student in Jesuit's (New Orleans) chapel at 4:30 AM. The student had a name tag that said Wally Pontiff. He asked the priest why the student Wally Pontiff would be there so early. Wally Pontiff had been dead for a few years. So make of that what you will. Could be that he likes to tell stories or could be that these things are real.

Also, for anyone interested. Father Vincent Lampert is an exorcist and trained alongside the priest who was depicted in the movie The Rite. He was on the PBD podcast and answers a lot of questions on exorcisms that he's participated in.

Not true. It's on Prime but you have to pay to watch.

Welp, that's not good. I guess I'll catch it once it's streaming free somewhere. I want to see the movie, but not bad enough to pay for it.

I was kind of hoping there would have been some after credit scene showing the mean priest that had to take some time off.

kind of the same. I liked the inquisition ties and all, and that really seems like a more entertaining flick

Boring movie. No real twists and the demon is so over the top with that London accent

I thought it was pretty good. Russell Crowe was, to my surprise, entertaining in the role.
