WTF? You’re asking if we should blame the NOPD for not doing their job? Should they not investigate murders?
I guess his argument is that there is a long list of other murders that they aren’t doing their job about so what’s another one to the list?

158 murders in 1998 in New Orleans, 230 the year before. Hundreds each year before that. A prosecutors office that could barely get convictions based on juries in the city. The city was a complete and utter failure. The murderer would have probably been killed had nature been left to take its course.
I watched the documentary straight through yesterday. It was compelling, but two things bothered me.
It seemed to neglect why Danny Jr got into drugs, it didn't show a single friend or explore nearly as much as to how he could have gotten to the point of driving into the 9th Ward for his fix.
The other part was showing Walt Leger at the end, and the now cash grab the trial lawyers are going to make. Greedy lawyers as bad as the doctors.

Chicken/egg.
When you begin to have a nonchalant opinion about murders in your city, it spurs more murders because people you might turn into people who will because they think they won’t ever get caught.

Watched and enjoyed.
Man is inspiring. Perfect example of a guy who missed his calling, yet found it regardless. He seems to be just as good of a detective than anyone I've heard of or seen in law.
I never enjoyed being in the 9th ward when I was younger. I'm surprised he wasnt at least beaten down. Has my respect.
and that female doctor is delusional and deserves the disability

Did Clegett get away with it pretty much? Sounded like she only got a fine once all said and done...

She only did probation. The DEA lady made it sound like sympathy due to the car wreck was why she got that deal. In addition she could never run a pain clinic again obviously. She should still be in prison.

Cleggett definitely got off light. Bitch is now sucking off the EBR government since she burned through the crash settlement she got in no time. The fact she shows no remorse and continues to lie... frick her.

can you really blame them for not wanting to consumetheir time and resources with a drug deal gone bad in the hood esp during those time
They were given the murderer's name by an eyewitness through Crimestoppers and they still made no effort to secure an arrest. I believe they are due and deserving of the condemnation they are receiving from this documentary.

Just finished watching. It was pretty good. That Dr Cleggett is an evil person.

I started watching last night.

She’s horrible. She also got some karma with that car wreck. She’s in assisted living now. Even in the interview on Netflix she has major cognitive issues.

What ever happened to the policemen that were involved in the pill mill? Was it ever proven that local law enforcement was on the payroll?

I’m sorry but I can’t get over the fact this piece of shite murders a guy in cold blood and serves 13 years and goes free?
What the frick? And the dad was ok with that?
Jeffrey deserved the fricking chair, I don’t care abt him being 16, he committed premeditated murder.
This ruins the whole show
Hey dumbasses how about respond with your opinion rather than just downvote.
Gosh I swear, this is the most pretentious, pussy filled board on TD

Amazing Doc
Him beating the pavement in the 9th Ward to find his sons killer is wild. It’s absolutely almost suicidal.
The story with Cleggett is insane. And when the DEA said “we were already investigating her”
I was like “ok dude, chill they got this” and the. The red tape hits them and boom Danny is back to saving the day. Absolutely amazing.
Even with brain damage that doctor is a fricking monster. Just completely lying her fricking arse off.

Great doc. Well, the doctor is evil, the documentary is great. She's a damn murderer. But the pharmacist is a brave and admirable person. Probably a gigantic pain in the arse to deal with, but he used his powers for good, and his capacity for empathy is inspiring, even for those who murdered his son. I'm in awe of that man.

Since he was 15 at the time and the only evidence was one eye witness, I’m not surprised they didn’t go for broke on the sentencing.
Also there’s no evidence to prove it was premeditated. Would be pretty easy to get that down to manslaughter if you can argue it was a drug deal gone bad

I agree with all of this. Fantastic documentary but I was left wanting more of Danny Jr’s story. Looking back, were there signs that the parents or sister may have missed? Did he start out using opioids from a legitimate prescription at some point? I’d have to believe that Danny Sr. investigated his own sons past as much as he investigated Dr Clegget. I bet he interviewed kids that went to kindergarten with Danny jr just to get some type of insight!
