None of them were the focus of the movie. They were nothing more than plot devices.

Plus she would say, "I am Bail Organa's daughter" and Obi would think, hmm Bail's daughter, about 19, and 19 years ago he took Anakin's daughter.
He would get it quickly.
I didn't think of that until after i typed it out last post.
This is one of the plot holes from the OT to the prequels. Obi Wan should know about Leia, but in Empire Strikes back, Obi Wan says "That boy is our last hope" and Yoda says "No, there is another"
I always took that as Obi Wan not knowing about Leia

And the Death Star was built one star system over from that.
In Ep 2 (AOTC), Tatooine is out in the middle of nowhere, but actually pretty close to where the separatists were building the droid army (and that's where the plans for the death star were). Since this was a Sith project more than a Republic/Empire one (the Senate would have opposed it), it makes sense that it was done away from the central area.
Perhaps the Library is also falling into that. Coruscant might be the seat of power, but it also might have had too many Jedi sympathizers and loyalists to the Republic to be a good location for Palpatine.

Me too. Could have meant that he didn't believe in Leia's power.

I hate too nerd out too badly but I guess that's what this thread is for:
Those ships are canon now. There was one on Rebels.

My thoughts, which won't add much to the conversation:
- a little slow in the beginning but it picks up big time and the last act is some of the best Star Wars in existence.
- not a perfect movie, but still very good and a darker version of the series we all love.
- if you didn't enjoy TFA, I think you'll enjoy this movie. If you did enjoy TFA, I think you'll enjoy this movie. For the record, I enjoyed TFA because it entertained me.
- Darth Vader was so awesome. The last scene where he just wrecks shop should give all a nerdgasm. That said, James Earl Jones is 90 and his voice shows. Vader shouldn't be engaging in long conversation.
- I didn't get attached to any of the characters, mostly because we all know the outcome. The writers could have done a better job of making the characters more sympathetic but it didn't ruin the movie for me.
- No scroll in the beginning but that's okay. It's not a main episode of the story.
- the CGI of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher was quite spectacular.

One of Lucas biggest mistakes. I think he tried another twist, similar to the Vader reveal, but this one just felt odd and out of place.

The thing is, all he had to do was not make Obi-Wan present for their birth and it's problem solved

Nah

But if Obi-Wan isn't there for the birth who would have made the great suggestion to "hide" Luke with Darth Vader's only surviving family?

More Map Goodness - This time with Google Maps functionality!
It's crazy to see how close Geonosis and Tatooine are. Your point about the DS plans on the Geonosis base are dead on, however.
Why the Empire chose to have such vital info out a far as Scarif is a mystery, however. All those docs would be much better served closer in toward the Core. It'd definitely be much more defensible.
ETA - If you note the location of Dantooine, you'll see that Leia was trying to get them in the opposite direction from Alderaan and Yavin IV.

Don't know if this has been discussed, but weren't Vader's robotic limbs fused into his body? Seems like that was what all the pain was about on the operating table. Maybe he has some sockets or something where he can take them off, but it just seemed weird seeing him in the tank like that. Film was great. Score was weak. CGI didn't bother me at all.

Well, if we want to use the map for accuracy, though I have some issues with it, Scarif is not far from Geonosis, which is where they originally had the plans and built it. They did it out there to hide everything from the Jedi and the Republic. That made sense. The Scarif location makes absolutely no sense to me. I started looking through it, but couldn't find a great source for where they got the location for it.
