Does anyone else just really hate the omni king's character?

From what I can infer, he is supposed to be a representation of the target audience. So he kind of proves that the show is now aimed for little kids and not the old fans.

That's so cool! Who cares about the rules if it is cool! This is new so its cool! I forgot how to count to five...

OK so going by the last episode:

44 fighters have been eliminated on-screen.
So, there are 36 fighters left.

U7 has 8 fighters left
U6 has 8 fighters left
U3 has 7 fighters left
U2 has 6 fighters left
U4 has 4 fighters left
U11 has 3 fighters left

Of the 44 fighters eliminated:
U7 has eliminated 29
U6 has eliminated 11
U2 has eliminated 3
U9 had eliminated 1

What the frick are the other universes doing?

Yes I think the Omni king is a retarded character.

I believe his characterization is meant to infer that he's "like a child", which contradicts the massive amount of power he wields. It might be a way to simply say the universe is random and mighty as if a child were simply playing games with the rest of us. There's little rhyme or reason to the workings of all things, and this is a way to explain the randomness of it all.

I think they clearly know who their target audience is, but in addition to what I said above the Omni King's likeness also may likely have roots in some Japanese culture/folklore if I had to make a guess at why Zen-Oh is depicted the way he is.

A parallel to think about is Buddha, Buddha is a fat, peaceful, and happy guy. Not at all the type you would consider powerful, mind-altering and strong, yet he still wields a vast amount of influence and power.

This actually ties in with the Majin Buu/East Kai absorption. East Kai was innocent, peaceful, and appeared exactly like Buddha. Did you think the personality of fat Buu was geared for young children?

Lastly, if you listen to the dialog it uses curse words often, and along with the things they show (some mature content shown), there's no way its meant for children.

I don't think "kids show" angle has much basis.

If anything it shows that the Omni King is easily controlable and his opinion is easily swayed. The Grand Priest is clearly using him as some sort of pawn, just as most of the Angels use their gods of destruction.

All of this is character development for when the the Angels and Grand Priest ultimately turn on the mortals, Kais, and gods

Dragon Ball Super comes on at 9:00 am on Sunday in Japan

Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and GT came on at 7pm on Wednesday.

I think it is fair to say it is more kid friendly now with that time slot. That is around the time that Pokemon, Yugioh, and Disney Princess come on.

There were edited/censored versions of DB, DBZ, and GT. For instance, there was never any blood shown, there was never any foul language or sexual references.

Also, I just finished the entirety of dragon ball. For those that have seen Dragon Ball and DBZ all the way through, is it head scratching at all to see Goten basically go SSJ at the same age Goku had barely learned the kamehameha wave or martial arts fighting in general?

Just seemed like Goku went through a shite ton of battles and major life events only to get to SSJ in an intense desperate battle against an immensely powerful opponent (Frieza) as an adult...while Goten without any battle experience or struggle whatsoever along with little to no martial arts discipline becomes SSJ at a very young age.

Maybe Goku's semen is effected by his power levels? He's weaker when he has Gohan, so while Gohan isn't a SSJ, Gohan clearly has more power than Goku at a much younger age, then Goten eclipses Gohan's power at roughly the same age.

^^ I don't buy the kids show angle either. This is what I referring to about Zen-Oh.. no I don't think they made him kid like to represent their viewing audience. I think they know their audience is older.

yeah, Goten and Trunks going SSJ without any real trauma was a little annoying.

Gohan and Goku trained their asses off to be strong enough mentally and physically before they became SSJs.

Goten was just messing around with his mom and became a SSJ.

But for the age thing, it wasn't a big deal. I mean Gohan was the 3rd strongest earthling at 6 years old (including Piccolo and Goku as earthlings here).

Don't give a shite about the emmy's, but that was a cool episode. It moved the arc along, but seemed like Goku was sidelined with his fight.

I liked episode 108 a lot, but why is Goku having such a hard time fighting that fat floppy frick with her bullshite attacks. Why doesn't he just transform and knock her arse out?

Because Dragonball.

The shots this week with Goku were nothing more than even more filler in filler episodes.

I had watched a video where someone tried to show what the tournament would look like in real time and multiple characters were apparently in multiple places fighting different people at the same time.

It is clear they did not plan this out and I really feel like they are just making it up as they go with no clear plan. This will end just like the Goku Black saga. Awesome until they wrote themselves into a corner and just bs'ed the end.

In real time Goku has only been fighting Ribrienne for about 2 minutes.

Apparently the Goku fight, Gohan/Frieza fight, and Vegeta/Roshi fight all happened at about the same time.

So there are still 29 minutes left...

I Was originally against having Frieza in tbe tournament instead of Buu, but now -- especially in the Japanese version-- Frieza has become a pretty great character.

Also just read that the 1hr episode (109-110) doesn't air until 2 weeks.

Damn... I was looking forward to finally seeing the Jiren fight. I've seen speculation that Roshi, tien, and Krillin might possibly get erased in the special leading to Goku's new form. Because he gets so pissed. Who knows but it would possibly make sense.
