Interesting twist, apparently Naz isn't this innocent kid we all thought he was with the extra drug in his system. Next week, the trial begins.

The show is super well done but it might be the most meandering show I've ever seen. It's sort of amazing to me how TD2 got critically roasted yet they all seem to love this.

Herring wasn't so red after all, bitches
Show isn't great, but at least we're getting actual plot movement and action now.

Maybe Freddy knows the black guy and is going to ultimately threaten Naz in jail if he snitches on him?

What was Stone planning on doing with that guy if he caught him? Made no sense

Have to agree. It certainly is watchable but I wouldn't lose sleep if I missed an episode or two...this thing moves at an unbelievably slow pace.
Same crap different episode: first 15 minutes deal with rotten feet and other personal problems....check; next 15 minutes deal with life behind bars...check; next 15 minutes deal with DA's office interaction with the cops...check; 15 minutes of real plot development...check.

He was taking adderall, big fricking deal.
The big question as someone else mentioned... Does Dwayne have a connection to Freddie?

Where does this connection come from ? Just because of drugs?
I'm guessing Dwayne came back that night and saw the real killer.

If taking adderall while in college and tutoring means someone isn't a good kid anymore then

Yea, these 5 episodes could have easily been just 4, maybe even 3 with all the time they've wasted

They should be on episode 3 max...I'm almost out on this show. I give zero shits about prison life, prostitution life, taxi cabs, diseased feet, and dead dudes dicks...I can't take how much time this show is wasting. I can't think of another show that had so much promise from the 1st episode to devolve into such a slow, shitty show.
As for this episode...yes, I think Freddy is possibly connected to everything. He's wanting Naz to get convicted so he has him by the balls for life from. That is why he made him shave his head (looks far more threatening now to jury). He is also building dirt on him and putting him threatening situations to get caught, plus brainwashing him to be more aggressive and think differently.
If it was Dwayne as the killer the whole time, I will be very disappointed. Damn..what potential wasted.

I think it's been great so far.

quote:Agreed 100%. After the first episode I thought this show was going to be a mystery where every detail was going to be important and you wouldn't know what happened until everything came together (in terms of knowing who the killer was). I guess that still could happen, but if it really is Dwayne I'll be pretty bummed.

You don't find Turturro dealing with his rotten feet and related erectile issues fascinating?

Told y'all he had something to do with it. Agree that Dwayne is tied to Freddy in some way. Freddy may be trying to help keep Dwayne out of prison. Either way, the show has gone to shite. Dicks and jail life do not motivate me to watch. I may just sit the rest of this one out and wait to read who actually did it in the end.

I'm with everyone else, so much potential... Wasted.
The ironic thing is last night's episode wasn't even that bad.
The show isn't a murder mystery, it's a commentary about our justice system. This particular narrative is about the system turning someone into a worse criminal then they were upon entry, which probably happens a lot with non violent drug offenders (or I guess innocent people) getting unnecessarily lengthy sentences.
What irritates me is the show turned a complete 180 from the first episode. It seemed like we were going to have a nice murder mystery... If the crime was actually committed by the most obvious of candidates and revealed in episode 5(of 8) that's incredibly disappointing.
Along with everyone else, I'm sick of the eczema and the already seen a million times prison storyline. And did that law firm seriously just hire stone, even though it's obvious the parents have no money (yes 30k is probably a drop in the bucket for them)... Couldn't the firm just sub-out?

I don't think that will turn out to be the case. There may be some connection, but Dwayne isn't the murder. Neither is Bodie.

I really hope that's the case....

The case was dumped on the girl, and she was given a joke of a budget to finish it. She knows Stone is already up to speed on case details, and will be cheap as frick. I'm good with that part.

Agreed. That and random dick shots are absolutely unnecessary.

Unfortunately I agree, and have given up hope on it getting back on the murder mystery track. I'm afraid they are going to make the actual murder something clean cut and obvious, but the actual twist being Naz in a jam because of Freddy anyway (as a lot of people are predicting).
