I wont watch it because trailers these days give away too much, but I am so excited.

Honestly, Aferlife was the best sequel for a cult classic possible. I know people loved Maverick, but it was just the star wars plot, and had a ton of plot holes.

Afterlife was a quality homage to the original GB, as well as set the stage for the next gen. Can't wait

I hope this is a sequel for the women version. I want to see it all burn!

It was bland and kind of stupid. shite, the chick GB might have had more laughs, and it was awful.

I liked Afterlife. Cautiously optimistic about the sequel.

is this the all tranny version remake of the girl ghostbusters? or will it be another attempt to destroy the original GB franchise?

The nod to Ramis and the OG busters was the best part of Afterlife. It's hard for me to see the remaining cast carrying this franchise forward... just not enough comedic ability or charisma.

Ghostbusters 1 & 2 were gigantic box office successes that both made over $200 million - how is that a cult classic?

Seems like they missed a GIGANTIC opportunity by not releasing this around Halloween.

You'll get downvoted into oblivion for this but you're absolutely right. Afterlife was boring and forgettable. At least the femme Ghostbusters had Hemsworth who is funny af.

Yeah, it was an overall better produced movie than the other one, but the original film was riotously funny. The jokes were so good they became part of the American lexicon. For example. I can't count how many times I heard someone say '__________ is toast' after Ghostbusters came out.

Afterlife is just a bunch of bland dad jokes with Paul Rudd, the blandest guy in movies. This movie focused on a group of kids, which seriously limited the style of humor that could be used.

And don't act like they too didn't put a chick in it and make it gay. The curiously boyish little girl who played the lead had zero screen presence, but they still had her doing the whole 'SHE'S SO AMAZING' thing the whole time.

But it had a bunch of fan service, call backs and 'respected the original,' so some people like it. That's how low the bar is now.

I watched Afterlife for the first time a few weeks back…my immediate thought was that it was “Goonie-busters”. Essentially a mashup of a kids adventure story with the “lore” of the Ghostbusters franchise.

I agree that the best parts were the mods to the original, although I wonder if my 13-year old self would have absolutely loved all of the movie.
