"The Nevers" Season One Discussion

I'm a little surprised a thread hasn't been started on this new show from HBO Max.
It's a turn of the century steampunk female predominantly female X-men type of show.
Laura Donnelly, who people that watch Outlander would know as Jamie's sister Jenny, is the star of the show.
I won't give too many spoilers but will say that an alien ships flew over London in the late 1800's and sprayed some type of mystic ju-ju on the city that gave mainly the women X-men type abilities. Some men were affected but mainly girls.
The first episode needs a rewatch to take everything in because a lot of information and character development is going on.
I'm typically not a fan of "girl-power" stuff but this seems to be a little different.
Thoughts?

Just watched the first two episodes and so far I like it. Was a little worried it may be too much girl power sjw crap but so far it’s been really good. Almost like Mrs perregrin meets x-men and Sherlock Holmes if that makes any sense. It’s hbo so there are titties which is a plus

Enjoying as well and curious the direction the season will go as we seem to know who the main villains are already.

Pretty dang good show. Didn't realize they were only doing 6 episodes. Going to be a fun couple weeks.

Holy curveball start to Ep 6

Gotta rewatch it tonight because I was half asleep, but definitely a major curve ball.

I was pretty disappointed by episode 6. Seemed like nothing happened. What is this curveball y'all are talking about?

Weird final episode of the season. Hey, the show isn't really about what we've been saying it is, it's about this completely other thing. Surprise!

They never really explained what the show was about prior to the finale.
For a second time I was ready to write this show off but they sucked me back in again. Glad to see the Victorian England shite is just a part of the bigger story.

not sure what you mean by this
there was always the mystery of "the Touched" and Ms. True obviously had a mysterious past with her "this isn't even my real face" line and her mentions about being left in previous episodes

It's really the "midseason" finale due to Joss Whedon being a douche. Supposed to be 6 more episodes, hopefully they get made.

I guess I'll have get caught up now, otherwise this show has been meh.
Glad I got caught up, series improved 100% with the 6th episode.

I avoided spoilers but heard the last episode was bonkers and completely agree. Wtf.
I knew there was something up with True being out of place but was not expecting that.

I've enjoyed the show. Episode 6 made things way more interesting. I'm still curious to learn more about how Sarah transforms into Maladie.
