Damn Mando looked like a bitch this episode.

I can’t decide if they’re trying to set up a partnership/romance with Bo and Din or if they’re setting up a divide between who will be the rightful ruler between Din and Bo.

The first time Bo got the Dark Saber Sabine gave it to her and everyone followed. So I think the same thing will happen with Mando giving it to her and she becomes their leader.

That would be the lamest fricking thing ever

Lol every time something bad happens to a male lead on this forum we get this post. I guess in 2023 you have to be an alpha chad that whoops everyone's arse (like mando did Moff Gideon) every episode to avoid becoming a bitch.

But yeah idk what his plan was walking into the water wit all that armor on.

So. Bo Katan saw the mythosaur, and those bubbles from her helmet surely meant to show it affected her.
And technically, she's bathed in the living waters beneath the mines, too... so I guess she could also be considered redeemed?

That is why I think she gets the dark saber without combat as she may have redeemed herself with saving him and seeing the mythosaur. She showed no hesitation saving him twice and no fear when see saw the beast.

That seems like the sort of tale that would inspire the Armorer and her followers.

Except I doubt she keeps her helmet on.

I thought for sure that’s how she’d get the dark Sabre back.

I thought there was going to me a moment after the fight with the spider cyborg thing where she was going to be tempted to keep/flee with the DarkSaber, but luckily she resisted the temptation if it presented itself.

And what was the thing that dragged him under?

I don't think the Mythosaur pulled him under. I believe the steps ended and dropped straight down into a trench.

Grogu didn’t feel like he was just there because he is part of the show, he actually played a role in the plot.

The clumsy CGI for his leaping has got to get better.

I enjoyed the father/son interaction in the ship heading to Mandalore. He was telling Grogu about his home planet, how to navigate like a Mando and how that will help him when he’s lost. It was subtle but I certainly noticed and felt it. I’m gonna be on meds if something bad happens to Grogu

Good episode. All I can add is that little headlight on Grogu's pod had me cracking up for some reason.

The thing that causes me to hesitate on that is mando getting it back. They couldve made that scene so that she clearly won it if the goal was for her to end up with it

If the storyline is to get her the Dark Sabre, somebody would need to beat Mando and take it from him…and then she in turn wins it back. I thought that might happen with the cyborg but it wasn’t a heavy enough character for that type of thing to happen.

They may have something planned with the mythosaur as that would definitely be a Mandalore moment…but don’t know how they pull it off with the need for one on one combat.

I do think it would be a great arc for her to get the Sabre and unite the mandolorians….with Din being the reason it happens and her forever in his debt….even after saving his arse a couple of times.

I think the conflict will come with the Armorer, not Bo-Katan

I'm still curious as to the horns on the armorer's helmet. Do those denote a previous alliance with Maul? That would put her at odds with Bo, and probably create some internal conflict with Mando.

It would be but combat is the only way. When Sabine gave it to her it became her curse

I just see Mando as not wanting to be the ruler and he has already sought out Bo to help him and find out about the planet. He seems to have a deep respect for her and I think he sees her as the true Mandalore.

If the internet theory that the Armorer is actually Rook Kast comes true, Mando will side with Bo and support her.

She received the first time not in combat but giving to her so who knows and everyone followed her. But that is because Sabine did not win it in combat either and just gave it to her.

I could see it playing out the Armorer gets the Dark Saber and battles Bo. Which would go into the theory that she is Rook Kast and Bo wins it killing her. It would make a great episode forcing Mando to pick sides challenging what he has been trying to believe/follow where he learns who the Armorer really is.

As mentioned if she is Rook Kast it would align her with Maul and put her at odds with Bo.

That would make sense. Bo has been bringing up the conflict between the Mandalorians a lot lately as well as part of the reason Mandalor fell, which makes me think they're planting that seed.

Also, a random question, I notice that Mando really struggles to wield the Dark Saber. It seems unusually heavy for him. Whereas Bo-Katan seems to wield it almost seemlessly. Is that coming from familiarity for her? Or does it have to do with his thoughts while wielding it?

I read this quote from Rebels that seems to suggest it's as much mental as physical:

quote:

It's actually Wren who explains why, exactly, the Darksaber is so heavy. In an episode of Star Wars: Rebels, she remarks, "Energy constantly flows through the crystal. You're not fighting with a simple blade as much as you are directing a current of power. Your thoughts, your actions, they become energy. They flow through the crystal as well—and become a part of the blade."

Nah. She should get her own show then. This is Mando’s show. At this point, Bo doesn’t deserve it. She could be the end of the season, but there’s nothing about her so far that would show she deserves to lead, other than being from Clone Wars and being of royal blood.

She thinks she deserves to lead right now, which is why she’s wrong for it
