Haven't seen lost. I do know it was a successful show with a large fanbase.

I don't understand why people need immediate answers. We know plenty going into episode 2.
1:Rapture-like event
2: the unexplained has caused groups to form who think they know the reasoning for events. Some of these groups are violent while some are passive.
3: Main character has his family torn apart following the events. Most likely due to his infidelity
Things that need to be answered: what the two cults believe and why.
Things that don't need to be answered but would develop the mythos further: what was the rapture.
