Did anyone see the last scene with the USS Nathan James in the water. That sure was a pretty mountain range in NOLA

Very much enjoyed the season so far. My only critique is how many times will the captain leave the ship to go on special missions?(yes I know he's the star) Doesn't seem plausible at all.

Okay, okay, I realize I am the one who starts the criticism train rolling on this show. They deserve it for these simple mistakes but, frankly, it's kind of what makes the show fun. I get a kick at some of the bad inconsistencies and shoddy mistakes and realize this show isn't trying to be perfect. It's just good, fun summer action show.

Shoot, because of this show I'm back watching Falling Skies because I'm too lazy to change the channel. Want to talk about stupid, I could run a thread 10 pages on my own with complaints about that show.

#Rekt.

Anyway, I can't wait for next week. Looks like a lot of shite is about to go down.

They lost four sailors and the damage is even more amplified considering their specialized roles. That's a lot of specialized labor they're going to have to replace. The asian dude is the biggest loss considering he worked on the ship's engineering. Israel is second biggest considering how she was one hell of a soldier.

I still don't trust the President, especially given who's playing him as the actor has a history of playing the bad guy and you can see with those beady eyes of his that he's up to something but he alleviated some of those concerns with that pretty damn good speech unless he had something to do with the civvies finding the oil rig but that may not be possible since the immunes had nothing to do with it. I don't know, we'll see.

I really think that Chandler will change his mind and lift the injunction on Rachel. I saw the tension between them and it looked like a love hate relationship they just can't let go of.

Falling Skies last season has been a colossal disappointment. It's wasted a ton of time on irrelevant bullshite that doesn't matter and now we're down to one last episode where they're supposed to defeat the aliens in DC and worldwide after being ambushed in Virgina and then show how they rebuilt the world and are living happily ever after. All in the span of maybe 40-45 minutes.

I'm still going to watch the last one because I've put so much time into it so why not see what stupid ending they come up.

He's Captain Kirk and the Nathan James is his Enterprise.

..and another thing.

The only people with power would be those who had access to fuel reserves or a solar bank/battery system.

Utility power plants require qualified workers to keep it operational, and those would have been dead months ago.

All of these people walking around with charged cellphones is a little retarded when there are no cell or data signals anymore.

And it did. And it was awesome.

How the heck will they repair their ship? Hull breaches, water getting into the ship, no sonar, no weapons... and it looked to me like Danny was a goner when he took his last shot... kind of like a "going out in style" thing... but he seemed to be fine at the end.

All in all, great episode.

Yes, that was a really good and entertaining episode.

The doctor who was documenting history of the cure working with his smartphone, be that video ends up running in a loop on the Valkyrie network.

So there is one last remnant of the Immunes to deal with in the season finale. Finish them off, news of the cure spreads, won't be much need for a ship, or the series, to continue much longer. Has this show been re-upped for next season yet?

They'll come up with something for next summer. I mean right now they are just dealing with folks in New Orleans. They not only still have the rest of America to deal with, but the rest of the world, including all of Europe that apparently is being run by the immunes.

I wonder how many more seasons they plan on going with this. Stretching it out over five season (another 3 after this one) shouldn't be that big of a problem since it is only 13 episodes per season. But anything past that would be tough to do, i would think.

Good to see they actually had shots that resembled LA's coastline in this one instead of the mountains from the previous episode. I wonder what the deal with that was?

Well, they film mostly around San Diego so maybe they have some issues finding areas that look like our flat marshland. However, an editor should've maybe caught that. I got a big kick out of it last week. This week it was much better.

Plus, I don't think they have as big of a budget as most fall shows have. So they are pretty limited on where they can go for scenery shots considering most of their budget is probably used on the battleship battle scenes.

They have a huge budget actually. Shows like The Walking Dead & Breaking Bad go anywhere from $2.5 - $4 million per episode. The Last Ship per episode price is right around $2.75-3 million. That's extremely high for a summer show. The production value would be impressive even if it were a Fall show.

Really? I just assumed that since it was a summer show that it wouldn't have that big of a budget. I guess that's what I get for assuming.

Having Michael Bay involved has the studio more willing to back it up with $$ I guess. It's been a solid show the past 2 seasons. It easily could fit somewhere on a Fall line up.

The Pres said that is why they were using NOLA as a base a few episodes back. He said the federal government stocked it with food and water, had a wall for defense and refineries and etc to make fuel. It was apparently suppose to be the largest refugee and survivor camp they had set up.
