Anyone actually talking about the show or at least the last episode?
Not really in the last five pages or so, no. Just a few comments about the season ending sort of stupidly and how much time they wasted this season just to seemingly drag it out into another two seasons (been renewed for a third, but now the showrunner says he needs a fourth).
This season just wasn't good, entertaining television. At all really. Everything about it was stupid, or overly woke, or didn't make any sense, etc. And the characters remaining suck for the most part. And episode 6 reinforced that. While it was enjoyable enough for the most part, it felt like TONS of wasted time for a penultimate episode of the season, and it only served to highlight how much better the show is with Pascal in it as the lead.
My only (and I do mean only) hope for the next season is that it was actually Ellie that got shot and died. I know that won't be the case. But I may actually tune in if it's not centered on Ellie and all of the stupid bullshite that comes along with her.
SO frickING MUCH of this season was wasted on random, dumb things. And the best and most interesting parts of the season (Abby, the search for Abby, the scar people, the Wolves, FEDRA, etc.) saw a tiny fraction of screen time. But hey, at least we got to see Ellie whine and cry a lot, and make out with chicks, and make stupid decision after stupid decision while putting everyone that knows her in danger. So that's cool I guess.

Nothing i posted was wrong. Madking just refuses to accept facts.
You two are the two least self aware people on this entire site. It's wild. Y'all are made for each other honestly.
Y'all just went numerous pages and neither of you proved anything.
You can see the most basic stat imaginable that tells you the show isn't performing good, that the finale was down 50% from season one, and can somehow try and make a case that the numbers are still great. Those numbers don't matter because "people do things on Memorial Day." You are being purposefully obtuse posting global numbers vs US numbers and keep doing it. Nobody is buying what you're selling. Nobody. The show based off of one of the mostwidely liked video games of all time is behind some arse Netflix show Cayan Canyon or whatever the hell it was.
Meanwhile Madkind has math and reding comprehension of a third grader and can't read a simple chart and see that it was 900+ million minutes so goes with the now trademarked Madking one word zingers of "Liar" and "False". And to prove your stupid stats he tops them with even dumber stats that doesn't even have streaming services numbers on it. Because yes, we really want to know how The Last of Us did in comparison to the NBA Conference Finals.
I hope to God you don't have a wife, I feel sorry for her if you do because based on your posting history across this site I am convinced you would legit argue that the sky is yellow if someone said it was blue. And if you don't have a wife or girlfriend, it's easy to see why.

third highest streaming show, beat the succession series finale. I'd say that's pretty great.
Andor did great too and The Last of Us season 2 outperformed it. the fact HBO is touting 37 million viewers means it is doing really well.

If this actually happened. Assuming she wasn't shot in the head. Would they be able to find another doctor who could try to create a cure?

Would be great if she is shot and Abby is like we had a doctor here that could've saved you, but Joel killed him. So good luck.
And then she dies and we follow Abby moving forward.

Correct. Just like if you are born a male, you can’t “claim” to be a woman…

FWIW I apologize for my contribution to that shite show. But it’s just hard for me to ignore the gaslighting about season 2 outperforming season 1 when it’s so obviously not fricking true.
That’s not to say it hasn’t been successful - it has, obviously. And it should be! It’s season 2 of one of HBO’s most successful shows of all time, adapted from one of the most successful video games of all time.
The problem to me is that they botched season 2. The numbers relative to season 1 simply reinforce that.
There are a number of things they did wrong IMO:
- Spent too much time on shite that didn’t matter.
- Didn’t spend enough time on shite that did matter.
- Laughable writing decisions at times, particularly in episodes 4-5 but also in the finale to some extent.
- Bad delivery by Bella Ramsey for most of the season (she was better in episodes 5-7 though).
- Bad decision by WBD to cut one of their most popular running shows to 7 episodes for season 2.
That doesn’t mean I think the show should or will get cancelled. But it’s incredibly disappointing as someone who thought this story could translate very well to live action. It’s a wasted opportunity and unfortunately it’s not like they get to start over and try again.
As I’ve said though, I think season 3 will be better. I think Kaitlyn Dever and Jeffrey Wright will be able to carry the season, and that expanding on the WLF/Seraphite conflict will present some opportunities for redemption.

Live cable viewers down 3% from episode 6.
Up 5% from episode 2.
Cable ratings were between 643k (ep. 2) and 774k (ep. 4) the entire season besides episode 1 (938k)

‘The Last Of Us’ Season 2 Created A New Ellie Out Of Thin Air
quote:
This is not the same Ellie. This Ellie feels like a kid going on a fun road trip with her girlfriend, only occasionally remembering what she’s there to do when a switch is flipped and she temporarily activates revenge mode.
The show is deathly afraid of portraying Ellie as unsympathetic or cruel, a girl trying to avenge her father figure but realizing how hard and sad it makes her when people start actually dying, often by accident.
Game Ellie is not this. Game Ellie has spent five years training to be a killing machine bordering on being an actual sociopath as she carves her way through the WLF to her specific targets.
By this point, it’s deeply weird that show Ellie has killed barely anyone. One guard, I think. She left someone to die and accidentally killed two other people this week. Yes, it’s true that in a video game, you’re murdering dozens and dozens of people in levels, and while that’s not necessary here, this Ellie has lost almost all teeth outside of maybe the Nora spore scene that was the one instance she felt like game Ellie for about 90 seconds. Ellie did not kill Owen and Mel by accident in the game. She shot Owen dead and stabbed Mel in the neck.

One of the best Ellie scenes this season was when she confronts Nora in the hospital lower levels with the spores in the air. The show desperately needed more of that.
I hated that they had Mel die "by accident". It should've been a cold, hard shoot. I'm ok with her realizing how fricked up she is right after it, but it just felt like a big stumble there to try to humanize her a bit too much.

Thought we were going to have a TWD scene there with Ellie and the pregnant chick.

Can't agree with this. OK, she's killing fewer people. She's unsympathetic and cruel, and making selfish, foolish decisions at every turn. The show is clearly an exercise in how far an audience can extend empathy. If the game goes even further, that's cool. If this show went even further, it would be comical. More comical than it already became, for many.

yeah this was horrible. and then the "cut it out" nonsense was a silly, infantile attempt at misery porn
