I think it’s probably Tommy that got shot. Knew Jesse was going to be dead after he mentioned multiple times that he needs to live.
On the upside, I’d much rather watch Devers as Abby and the WLF stuff in a larger chunk in the next season.

So watching the after show, the switch to Abby will show the last three days for her in Seattle (hence the ticker going back to Day One) leading up to her confrontation with Ellie.
Gives me just enough bait to stay watching for a few more episodes.

really enjoyed the aquarium and theater scenes. glad we are getting more Dever's Abby next season.

Unfortunately I think this season has really highlighted that her casting was probably a studio head choice due to her popularity after Game of Thrones. Bella is a fine actor but when you're leading a show like this with actors that are pretty damn good it kind of sticks out. Also Bella simply doesn't have the charm that Ashley Johnson did in the games. I also do wish the season had like two more episodes I'm not sure why HBO has been on this trend lately of linting their series to single digit episodes.

To say there isn't review bombing going on is pretty asinine. I'm in agreement that season is weaker than season one but people we're hitting season two with one stars before the first episode even aired. Same shite happened with the second game. You saw a site where anyone could review the game bombing it to lower the score but when it came to sites that you had to verify your purchase of the game to leave a review the score was much higher.

Wouldn't that be something if Abby becomes the lovable character over Ellie
the complete opposite of the game. This episode was like most of the others...some high highs and some dumb shite. I lol when the scars just released her. And I thought the aquarium scene sucked. The rest was solid.

Because they are making up as they go along, 1-2 seasons more and it they have already blown the ending of the game out of the water. It's more flashbacks of stuff that was minimal in the game than what was actually in the game.

Did Ellie get shot? I would not be surprised the gunshot we hear when the screen goes black was Dina shooting Abby. Dina is there somewhere and the father of her child just got killed and the girl she loves is about to.
Maybe next season is Abby story for the 3 days in Seattle with their confrontation showing how it ended.

Down 55% from season 1 finale but still a big number.
Airing during a Knicks playoff game probably didnt help any. Season 1 finale was in March before the NBA playoffs began.

I believe someone in this thread mentioned that Neil Druckmann would be very happy with that result since that was his intent when writing game 2.
There have been some funny theories out there that they skipped casting Kaitlyn Dever as Ellie because it would make picking Abby harder. The audience is going to 100% be on Abby's side during season 3 which was always the intent.
