Bills town was Chapter 4 of the game out of 12 Chapters.
It was smaller than the show but not really a blip. Its basically the first place you visit on your journey.

I’m pretty sure I know the big thing that’s coming, but I don’t know the ins and outs of the game. Is Ellie that terrible in the game? It’s tough to watch a show where the protagonist is just unbearable.
My thoughts are based 100% on the character on the show. Don’t really care about the casting.

In the game there is more of an air of sadness around her and less of a straight up "frick you" vibe

Loved season 1. Big hopes for season 2.
Episode 1 was kinda boring, but I guess they have some groundwork to lay.

Gotta disagree here. I was excited for this despite being on the fence about season one, but that was just a bland episode imo that really the only thing that it accomplished was make me hate the main character even more. And it wasn't just her attitude towards Joel, it was her attitude towards literally everyone.
I agree the Spanish girl is a far superior actor and even though I couldn't care less of how odd Ramsey looks, it is pretty unbelievable that she would hook up with Ramsey. I'm sorry, they just aren't even in the same league. The fact that her character is so freaking annoying makes it that much worse.
I'm trying to remember back to the end of season one. Did Ellie and Joel have a falling out? I can't remember. After the credits the show runner just made it seem like Ellie was being this way just because she's a teenager. Feel like I missed something.
I'm not a gamer, but if this show is a faithful adaption to the game I can't imagine playing a game and just having the main character be the most miserable character imaginable. Sounds awful.

Ramsey is playing Ellie exactly the same as season 1. Game Ellie is not like this. Ramsey, to me, was the weak spot of this first episode.

Yea I was just assuming something happened in the time gap, just couldn't remember if there was something at the end of S1 that I was forgetting about. He told her he didn't lie to her so maybe she knows he's lying like the therapist did but it's pretty extreme if they are just writing it off as her being a teenager/growing pains.

S1 Ellie was a foul mouth shite but she had some redeeming qualities. She joked around quite a bit in S1 which kind of helped wash over her very rough edges. Not so much in this episode.

She was the main focus of the entire episode so overall it was a weak episode. Trying to think of a single thing I liked about this episode and nothing is coming to mind. Don't think I felt that way towards any episode except for one last season. Maybe since the the pilot episode last year was an all time great episode I got my hopes up that this season would start off strong and all it did was make me hate an unlikable character even more.
It's not even that she is just a bitch to everyone, she is also dumb, self centered, selfish, and doesn't listen to anyone. When I say I would like her character to die it is because she is legit stupid to where she actually deserves to die. There is no way they continue to make her character this ignorant and bitchy so I'm sure it's bound to get better but man that episode rubbed me the wrong way

I'm with you that she's not likeable so far. That's on Mazin and Druckmann. Hopefully she does improve. I've mentioned before that my concern is can ramsey sell being a brutal killer? The second game is very violent. That scene where she took down a huge dude was laughable

That guy looked like a young Al Borland. Yeah i dont see her overcoming that size difference even with jiu jitsu knowledge. He would just be able to overpower her.
I will say i did laugh out loud at her once when she was doing the sign language stuff in the market.
That entire market scene was awesome fan service. Only thing i wouldve changed wouldve been having multiple stalkers but i guess that will happen later and this was just an introduction to how stalkers behave.

Yeah, good scene. I enjoyed Pedro, Dina, the therapist and seeing the town of Jackson. It's a solid start to the season, but I do understand the complaints about Ellie.
