or a very questionable casting of that character.
Ann Dowd or Margo Martindale could have crushed.

A doctor, especially an OB
My wife said she’s probably pregnant too because he said I’m YOUR doctor. So double stupid on her part.

I agree bad casting of her part…hard to picture Rose from two and a half men being the leader of a group of hardened survivors…
I’m waiting for her to bring up how this will all lead to her getting with Charlie…

She also seemed very stupid for killing the doctor.
This is easily the stupidest thing that has been done on this show

But they were within structure and rebelled from it, which means your argument isn't effective, even if we assume this to be true.
As Wolfgang Pauli once said, this isn't even wrong. It's so incomprehensible as to not even merit that designation. Opposing structure, which in this case was itself a military autocracy based on the consistent use of force, is not synonymous with the presence of structure. That they further destabilized their environment is incidental. When reduced to the unflinching use of violence for survival without designated institutions which can be relied upon to provide protection, men instinctually will not place their trust in women to lead them.

This was the show's attempt to demonstrate that she earned the respect of her followers through ruthlessness. To overcome the natural dubiousness of a woman doing such a thing they needed an over-the-top example of it thus providing one that transcends ruthlessness to become merely absurd.

You can't apply ancient warrior mentality to a situation like an apocalypse. When everyone has guns the weakest physical threat can take out the strongest.
You are trying to act like nothing unlikely is possible. The real world's history shows us that unlikely things happen all the time. One of the most successful pirates in the history of the world was a Chinese woman.
We don't see enough of how she got in power to act like it's impossible like you want us to believe by presenting yourself as some sort of expert.
The show is dealing with a very small glimpse of this community.

I'm still in the middle of watching the episode but one comment I'd like to make is how absolutely fricking absurd the results are when modern entertainment insists on sticking to their "representation" agenda. There is no way in hell that a world reduced to such utter brutality would find a woman in a position to order around men. It would violate every instinct in men who could no longer rely on the rule of law to protect them and this would be especially true of the particular type of men to have survived in that world. Watching this soft-spoken woman walk around giving orders is just utterly laughable. They may as well devise a plot in which a woman strolls into Angola prison and becomes top dog. They're just so uncomfortable with the fundamental differences in the nature of men and women and the way in which these differences are pronounced in extreme situations.
Is this the new outrage?

Seems like it, they can accept zombie fungus but can’t accept that a woman might be in control of one bandit group

I agree that the woman leader wasn't that believable, but not because she is a woman, but because the actress just wasn't very believable.

I couldn’t pick out what I knew her from and low and behold she was the mom who wanted to use Dee as a surrogate in It’s Always Sunny

This isn't about the ability to physically influct violence. It's about the mentality necessary to inflict it unflinchingly and without remorse. That particular temperament is overwhelmingly found in men and, more to the point, men understand this about themselves and about women.
The ability to cite historical exceptions it's how modern entertainment strings together a never-ending series of extremely implausible scenarios for which those examples are used as crimps to sustain the illusion that such things are as perfectly possible as any other. With regard to differences in temperament between men and women, they don't like the idea that's such a thing could be innate and will strain credulity for as long as is necessary to eliminate incredulity. They will show you Pirate Queens (to use your example) incessantly until you accept the delusion that we're either just as likely to see them as Pirate Kings or that, to the extent that we aren't, it is only because these expectations are self-fulfilling and that altering the expectation through exposure to their stories offers the power to alter the real-world ratio.
Suffice us to say that some of us are becoming increasingly sick of the constant opposition to the realities of human nature in entertainment.
But I actually liked the episode believe it or not. ??

I agree here because better casting would have made a huge difference

I agree with others that the casting seems odd considering how soft spoken the woman leader appears, but I assume (and hope) that there will be more backstory on how she became the leader in future episodes

I think her story had to with her brother who maybe was well respected but died in those cells I think she said which gave her the respect of the group. Meaning only because of her brother but I also think that maybe her demeanor will cause the group to turn on her in the future and maybe why they cast her for the role. At least I hope so

So much like this board to be focusing on how unrealistic it is for a woman to lead a group of survivors in a fricking Zombie show, rather than talking about the great episode...
