Which isn’t even a real thing.

There are more dedicated people fake up voting via Stans and bots than there are random individuals down voting.

It’s crazy that you live in a world where “review bombs“ only work, one way, and never both ways.

i hope this doesn't happen. Would really weaken the lesson of the narrative.

I thought they reconciled in the game? The end scene with Ellie going to get Joel's guitar is after she already returned to Jackson.
The bracelet was a dead giveaway.

JSG explains why there's so much animus against TLOU games.

Aside from 2 being "Feminism: The Game", Neil Drukman is a colossal piece of garbage. First for working his twisted political views into a spectacularly famous TLOU franchise, but then also vilifying fans and attacking YouTubers, then LYING about it.

Way to display your fanservice, Neil.

I loved the dark lesson the game taught the player. Ellie gave into her rage and it cost her everything. Dina, Dina’s baby, and the ability to play the song Joel taught her. Pretty heavy

I just finished Part 2 of the game. I don't know which part of your post is drawing the downvotes. I didn't love the lesson. I was pulling for Ellie throughout the game. Watching her "play" the guitar at the end was gut wrenching. I'm a sucker for happy endings.

I get that this was more of a game post, but if they change the end, it takes away from the game, IMO. While I already stated that I didn't like the lesson, I think its important to the story (game and show) to have the audience react to what was written. No changing to suit a regret you may have had. I think it is a powerful story. Even though I'm not all in on the Lev stuff, I do get it.

I just caught up with episode 3 and man, I’m not convinced splitting Part 2 into 2 seasons was the right call. First there’s the question of how exactly they’re going to split it up. The logical answer would be to put the split at the point in the game where you switch to Abby, but that doesn’t seem to be the case considering we apparently get at least some of the Lev storyline in this season.

Episodes 1 and 3 would be fine, maybe even great, for a full-season streaming release. But I think they’re going to lose viewers with a weekly release format. Yeah, they moved the plot forward and developed some characters.. but they did it in a way that was, quite frankly, kind of boring to watch. Considering the game already has the built-in mechanism of multiple simultaneous plot threads, you’d think they could figure out a better way to translate to TV.

Then there’s the fact that season 2 is only 7 episodes. One of which didn’t even cover the entire prologue of the game. I think they could have fit the entire game into 10-11 episodes with faster pacing.

Then there are the changes. In the game, Tommy - not Dina - is on patrol with Joel. And in the game, Tommy is the one who goes off on his own to kill Abby and her group. Ellie and Dina follow him. This would have been a lot more believable considering Tommy is a vet and much more grizzled, so to speak.

After the first episode, I thought maybe they were intentionally making Ellie more stubborn, angry, and headstrong for a couple of reasons. One, because they need to establish her as someone who can have that thirst for revenge. Two, because making her less likable (compared to Dever’s Abby) might prevent some of the blowback that happened with the game. I’m not a fan of Bella Ramsey but I can totally understand the line of thought here.

But then they turned around and somehow made her seem less crazy after Joel’s death. I’m supposed to believe that the Ellie from episode 3 is about to go on a spree of killing and torturing people to get to Abby? Some of it is writing, some of it is Bella’s delivery. But it just doesn’t seem to land the right way.

Idk, I’m still going to watch. I say all of this as someone who mostly enjoyed TLOU2 and even appreciated the plot twist of switching to Abby’s POV. I want the show to be good. I just think they’re missing the mark in a lot of ways, at least through 3 episodes.

Her and Dina got back together, she was just there to get Joel’s guitar.

At the end of TLOU2? It's been a while since I beat it but I remember Dina being pissed that Ellie left to go after Abby. Tommy convinced her to leave and Dina stayed back. Dina wanted her to move on from this and focus on raising their baby.

When Ellie returns, Dina is gone because she's done with Ellie. Ellie can't even play Joel's guitar anymore because of her finger being removed.

I saw something yesterday that talks about Ellie wearing Dina’s bracelet in the last scene of the game so there’s a theory that she went back to Jackson and reconciled with Dina before going back to the farm to get the guitar.

I don’t like it though, as the whole point of the game is that you must pay a price for revenge.

She's wearing the bracelet again. Reconciled with Dina and then went to the farm to get Joel's guitar.

How are we feeling about the “I don’t think I can ever forgive you, but I want to try” flashback being used so early?

I dont understand putting all the flashbacks in the same episode. They were well done and should've been spread throughout

Ellie returns to an empty farmhouse because Dina told her that if she left to get revenge that she and her son were gone.

Ellie returns to an empty house and tries to play Joel's guitar, and can't because her two fingers are missing. So she's left there to realize she's lost everything. Dina. Dina's son. And now her final memory of Joel.

It's a very bleak ending and a great lesson.
