Agreed. However the masses want their crappy superhero series so we will continue to get Jessica Jones etc

Halfway through season 3 now. The pace of the show is one of the best parts. Very little time wasted. GoT can set up a battle for a season. Last Kingdom sets up and has the battle in the same episode.

You realize Netflix cancelled Iron Fist, Daredevil, and Luke Cage, right? We’re getting JJ season 3, but it’s likely getting axed too after that.

I wouldn’t put TLK in my top 5 maybe even 10. It’s still damn good, but man the quality out there is just ridiculous.

It is drama, but it has one character played by a very amazing actor that is just damn awesome and he’s certainly LOL-IRL (as in you will literally laugh out loud) funny at times. I won’t spoil anything, just get to watching and don’t read up on it imo. Cillian Murphy is damn good. The supporting cast is superb. Like I said, I would not read into it and just dive.

Uhtred is way too good.
There isn’t a lot of moral conflict going on in his heart. That makes him predictable, and less interesting.

Definitely one of the best. Along with Peaky Blinders and a couple of others.
Some BBC shows are excellent and they have a long history of good programming over there. Glad we finally quit copying some of their shows and instead just let them come to us pure.
Bet a lot of people over here are not even aware of shows that we're big hits here that we're actually knock offs of shows originated over there.

It ventures away from the books in many ways, but when it does, the choices made are for the benefit of the story and true to the characters overall.
I think it's one of the best book to film adaptations I've ever seen.
Truly great, and I hope it has three more seasons.
Would be interesting to see how they deal with an aging Uhtred as the story goes on. By the end of the novels he is in his mid to late 50s.
