Just looking up the basic synopsis, yep. That matches this basic premise.

Where have you been? All woke films get critical appraise... ALL of them. You know that Dr. Who, losing fans and money like crazy STILL getting praised.

Birds of Prey still getting praise.

If its woke, it get an automatic pass.

I just meant that I hope the movie is actually good and is not only given inflated reviews due to the social climate.

The review I quoted just happened to be the first one I looked at. The rest of the reviews didn't seem to insinuate that it was a "me too" movie. Hopefully it's just good for being a good movie

The trailer was good but unfortunately, the whole movie was shown in it.

The scene in the attic is really the only scary scene not shown in the trailer.

This movie isn't very good, I must report with sadness. Just not very tense or scary. Every jump scene or twist is predictable.

It's probably at least decent but every single movie perceived as pushing the SJW agenda is basically automatically bumped up a grade. Any movie that fits the "correct" politics, be it real or perceived gets inflated.

Bad ones are called ok.
Ok ones are called good.
Good ones are called great.

etc.

Right. Like the movie isn’t for everyone. It’s slow. It might not. Be your taste. But it’s ridiculous to say it’s not a well made movie.

Saw it tonight and liked it. Wife did too. Tense moments and I didn’t feel like it was hitting me over the head with wokeness

Woke movies are the flip side of the coin of those Kirk Cameron style Christian movies. The difference being that they are more well-made because they are supported by Hollywood.

I disagree with that negative review.

I thought the movie was great.

Obviously you already know the premise, but there were twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. They did a good job of setting up plot points for later in the movie that you either have forgotten or think aren't relevant.

I highly recommend this movie. It was entertaining.

ETA: For what it's worth, I never felt a "me too" vibe at all. In fact, it never even crossed my mind until I just read through this thread.

It was a damn good solid movie. Yes, you know there’s going to be an Invisible Man, but the tense moments are throughout and the ending is not as typical as you think it will.
Worth a watch. Also, I didn’t get a SJW vibe really. But I don’t go around looking to make everything about politics or some agenda. I just go watch to zone out for a while.

Saw it this afternoon. It wasn’t a bad movie, but I thought it would be a little better. I did like the restaurant scene, though.

The camera work was the best part of the movie. The way it would focus on an empty doorway or a chair and just stay there for a few seconds. You never knew if he was there. Elisabeth Moss had to carry the film since Adrian had so little screen time. I wish they had elaborated more on his back story. I know that his brother said he tormented him as a child and he was a sociopathic genius as an adult, but how did he get that way?

Just got out and I really liked this one. I am a gaping vaj when it comes to horror. This one obviously avoided anything gory but since you know the movie is called “Invisible Man” you are actually sitting there wondering if he’s in the room from the second Moss’ character gets away from him. I read that it only cost $7mm to make, which is Blum’s wheelhouse, but if you think about it they created a bunch of terror with empty rooms.

The woke shite was non-existent. This was just a sci-fi sleeping with the enemy but very well done.

Honestly, I wish that they hadn’t shown the only really telling scene in the trailer where she throws paint on him. I think they could have played up her being crazy better without that reveal in trailers.

Alas, really good movie.
