What are your thoughts on this series?
My wife and I just started this on a recommendation of a friend. We are two episodes in and I am not sure.
From what I have read about it season 1 is good, S2 is torture pork, S3 is ok and S4 I have really seen and reviews

I started season 4 last night. It is interesting enough to have kept my attention through 3 seasons, but if 4:1 was any indication, I might be done with this series soon. I won't spoil it, I will just say that I find myself hating the hero more and more each season.

I haven't watched it, although I might at some point. My wife made it through three episodes and then quit watching because "it's a weird arse show."

Watch it as a Airplane style comedy with terrible writing and an ugly cast and it goes from a 0.01 to like a 4.

I've unfortunately seen every episode, it is a really bad show that is painfully boring 95% of the time. It has random moments that are pretty dark and almost don't fit with the rest of the show. They also almost always end on a cliffhanger to keep you going. Again do not recommend.

I’m only watching it because I’ve given it so much of my time already. Just going to torture myself and see it through.

Wife loves it.
I don't watch chick flicks/shows so I don't have much to say on it.

thats too bad...the book is a classic and the original movie is a good watch. i havent tried the show because the reviews are so tepid

I haven't read the books or prior knowledge of the space.
It's not a show for everyone, but I get outside my box too.
My takeaways are:
- Easily is dystopian in nature - no shite
- Very grim and torture-esque
- Is interesting with acting, cinematography and premise.
- Loses itself in looping the story arc - over and over.
- Can't decide between explaining the dystopia or just saying "here we are" leap of faith. It makes the timeline terribly complicated and nonsense. Pick one - Don't try to half-arse explain shite.
That said, if you can deal with misogyny topic and a clearly specific point of view in a narrative, it's not a bad show at all. My 2 cents.

My wife was watching a newer episode last night... and holy crap Elizabeth Moss is ugly. I never liked her before either, she is definitely an actress that will ruin a show/movie for me before I even watch it.
