Spencer Tracy's eleven-minute closing speech was filmed in one take.

Shatner admired Tracy's ability to memorize lengthy monologues without needing multiple takes.

He approached Tracy to express his admiration, saying, "Mr. Tracy, I just want to express my admiration that you learned lines!"
Tracy's Reaction

Tracy interpreted Shatner's comment as an insult rather than a compliment.
He snapped back, stating, "I was on the stage before you were born, son," and subsequently refused to speak to Shatner again.
Aftermath

This incident left a lasting impact on their working relationship, with Tracy never speaking to Shatner again. parade magazine

The rest of these busters in this thread can't appreciate the greatness that is Samurai Cop. Travesty that it didn't win Best Picture that year, and also every year since then.
