About the VW. My first reaction was that it was a nice car that was running and someone could have used it. Then real world came in. The guys destroyed it because they wanted to. It was an epic destruction. Where did that handsome dog come from? Whoever set up the photography of that should win some sort of award.
A car-goes-down-hill that puts all other cars going down hill.......to shame.

For decades we've been getting the same thing from them...and we could not care less. We just wanted more of the same thing. At some point they have to shut it down. Time is undefeated, always will be. It was as good a send off as possible. Goodbye, lads. What will we do now?

Really great way for it to come to an end. Going back to Botswana was a fantastic idea.
I really appreciate Jeremy, James, Richard, Andy Wilman and all of the crew members along the way who made the incredible adventure of Top Gear & The Grand Tour possible.

Finished it... Brothers in Arms was a perfect pick for the last hooray.
Someone was cutting onions
What an amazing show and the charisma of those three together is unmatched.
Like someone called out earlier, was very interesting comment about "Amazon did offer a new contract or a boatload of money"... Like I mentioned earlier, I can't imagine that sometime next year or soon after they don't get together and do something again.

It was really well done, better than most of the recent ones that have felt somewhat forced. Africa really brings out the best in them.
I got pretty emotional towards the end of it. I've been watching these 3 old codgers do ridiculous stunts with cars and travel the world for 2/3 of my life. They've had just about as much influence over making me want to get out and experience the world than any other program/presenter, right up there with Bourdain. They've meant so much to people over the years, I'm not sure if they fully realize.
You certainly did, James

They went out with a good one. No tears, but I for sure had some goosebumps as they parted ways at the end.
Some good ball-buster jokes in this one. I especially liked the one about Hammond and the Rimac.

Clarkson and May finding their cars from the original Botswana special (the first Top Gear special) was really moving. Obviously Hammond kept Oliver, but I never would have imagined Clarkson and May’s cars would still exist.

I got old with them watching it all with my son (almost 18 now...).
....In the world
nice ending

Global treasures, these 3.
Growing up, I was never a 'car guy'. Older brothers had go-carts and motorcycles, but that wasn't my thing. Sports, other stuff, caught my interest.
Then, many years later, I caught on to Top Gear. OK, funny Brits, fine. But the more I watched, it just dawned on me what they were REALLY saying. Beyond the jokes and funny accents, they had a way of explaining the connection between driver, machine and the road that inexplicably never registered with me. I can't explain it, but a door of understanding was finally swung open and it's fracking brilliant.
