so many plot holes

like the nuke at the end. dudes moving at maybe 5 knots. bomb has 20 minutes on the ticker. it would have been less than 5 miles from the coast. would have wrecked havoc for san fran. didn't

also why does godzilla not attack the humans? they shoot him.

just an all around stupid movie. made no sense and the actors were horrible. i wish godzilla had killed all the actors within the first 5 minutes.

I really enjoyed it. Was really hoping for more visceral combat though between Godzilla and the Mutos. Don't get me wrong when Godzilla atomic breath'd that Female muto down her throat was awesome but I was hoping that he would have just ripped the wings off that male muto etc. Pesky little fricker.

I didn't like how the first hour and half was mostly humans and cutting away from Monster fight scenes

I really liked this movie. It's not going to win any Oscars or appear on many Top Ten lists at the end of the year, but it succeeded in keeping me entertained for 2 hours. When a summer movie does that, it has succeeded in my opinion.

There were a few wooden performances as well as a few leaps in logic but overall it was a good movie.

Final Grade: B+

exactly. When I was 17 and the last Godzilla came out all I wanted to see was Monsters fighting, but NO.....

This one made the 33 year old me feel like the teen who cheers at movies.
I was the only one clapping for him, but there was like 16 people in the show last night (Imax at 10:30, the Kenner theater is always empty)

I took my ten and twelve year old and it took them awhile to realize that Godzilla was a good guy but then they loved the idea that it wasnt just your typical us VS them monster movie

I give it a B and I enjoyed it for what it was. It tried to tell a story along with the monsters instead of it being 2 hours of Godzilla wrecking shite but I liked it. They could have cut a lot of the scenes out and made it a shorter movie with the same effect or cut those scenes out and give more Godzilla

That blue fire though

What did yall think about the different origin? I loved the original origin where we (humanity) created him with our nuclear testing, but thought this new one was interesting.

Either way I thought the movie was awesome.

Saw it last night, and enjoyed it. Obviously much better and truer to old Godzilla than the 98 one.

No problems really with limited action, wasn't expecting Pacific Rim. The shots of Godzilla were awesome, was happy he was the good guy so to speak.

The original Godzilla was a regular dinosaur that got mutated from the Japanese doing nuclear tests. He then went on a rampage against humanity before he he decided to flip flop as friend or foe in future movies lol.

In this new movie he was already using radiation as an energy source long before man was around.

Just got out of it. Loved it. Perfect up to date remake imo. I'm a huge godzilla fan and this one filled my expectations

Just got out, just a lot of fun. Nothing completely mind blowing, but it was perfect for what it was outside of a few jumps in logic (then rescuse to nuke explosion bothered the shite out of me).

It was almost a campy Japanese ending.
Godzilla wrecked shite, and then just roared and took off to the water with a flood of cheers.

Classic way to go out for the big guy. I liked it.

I wish Cranston was in it longer but I'm assuming the limited screen/filming time is probably why he took the role.

I just got out myself at the Imax on O'Neal. The movie was great. I had to make some trans-gender douchebag get his/her/it's feet off the back of my chair, but other than that I liked it.

I'm wondering if they were natural enemies or something like that, in nature.

It was certainly weird (as someone who knows almost nothing about the series outside the 1998 train wreck). He was basically an ally of the humans.

He was pretty much just swimming alongside the Navy.

A few questions if anyone could help clarify:

Were Godzilla and the MUTO both prehistoric?
Did Godzilla feed off radiation, or was that just the MUTO?
When they originally found the MUTO at the beginning of the movie, were those eggs, or were they just dormant?
