I think it works better not showing Tessio being whacked. Heads of the 5 families are gone, Carlo gets his comeuppance, and there’s only one piece of family business left to be settled.
Tessio tells Tom to tell Michael that it was never personal. He asks if Tom can get him off the hook, Tom says no. Tessio accepts his fate and goes off to die.
It works perfectly.

DId you have your phone one inch in front of your face half of the movie as well? I'm not normally one to make fun of someone for not understanding everything about a movie but man these are pretty basic plot points
