If they kill that man off, I will riot. RIOT I SAY.
Also the duke warming up to Gladys and kinda pushing the sister out of the nest makes me happy.

Yes! They better not kill off Railroad Zaddy George.
And, Larry is looking scrumptious lately. Marian. . . what a dummy. Larry went to Haymarket - so what? Is she not concerned he was laying pipe with that older woman in Season 2?
I think Gladys will announce a pregnancy soon. So long, Lady Sarah!!
Poor Oscar. Seasons 1 and 2 - I thought he was a dick. What a character turnaround. I really felt for him this last episode

the big mention comes right on the heels of learning the son inherits the home, my bet is that its the catalyst used to out oscar and force a choice between him and his mother. the mothers choosing/shunning their children arcs are going to come to head at once, probably early next season.

I can’t help but feel that lady is up to something nefarious at best. I wondered if she was similar to Bertha’s maid, circling to find a salacious story to sell or something along those lines.

that's a good assumption, almost every outside character has been to some extent. though it was nice that bitter john's sister got to end on a nice note, with the acceptance of it all.

BREAKING NEWS:
IRL Lady Sarah and Oscar are married with 2 kids.
Mind blown.

Am I the first to wonder if that's really Oscar's teeth? They seem almost denture-like.
Posted on 8/5/25 at 2:06 pm to KajunLass
they are both SO much more attractive irl.

I was also shocked to see that Oscar is 47 in real life. I thought he was about 35 or so. But what do I know... I'm in my 50's now and a 21 year old looks 12 to me now.

The land she mentioned her ancestor had is going to tie into Oscars new place somehow
For sure! And Agnes definitely thinks it's weird that he inherits it and probably suspects that he is gay (the crying over Adams) and is worried that his inheritance may somewhat out him to society. I wonder if she's worried that with this naming of the place that Oscar's inheritance will become known to society. That's my theory.

Giving this a bump. We ride at dawn if Railroad Zaddy dies.
Also for your leisurely Sunday reading, all of the cast members who have been on Broadway (pretty much all of them BTW). Audra McDonald is the most decorated (she actually holds the record for most Tony Best Performance wins) and is the only EGOT winner of the bunch.
Article on every Broadway actor on the show

I’ve been absent this thread for this season but my wife repeated as nauseam that she knew something terrible was going to happen last episode.
She said if he dies, she’s out.

And this show is the first time I have ever liked her performance..in anything. I usually find her to overact and oversing. An industry friend told me to watch her Tony performance a few months ago and it was so overdone and overwrought IMO...but people still go crazy for her. But I like her performance in this show. Perhaps its the restraint the setting and character calls for that is a good governor for her over revving engine.

I also saw that most of the actors in The Gilded Age were from the musical theater world. Julian Fellows, how about a musical episode?

How will I get my hot Carrie Coon dressed as a socialite fix after tonight?

That was the big mention, but if I’m not mistaken, it’s also the second or third mention this season. The first two were letters and Agnes kept responding that they were just asking for money. It may be just setup to out Oscar, but the fact it was mentioned well before John Adams’ untimely death makes me think it is something more substantial. Can’t wait for tonight’s episode.

Solid episode but underwhelming end to the season as a whole. Love the show and it has been a nice 2 months.

Well, Fellowes isn’t exactly the type to hit you with a massive cliff hanger type ending to a season. And I don’t mind that.
We have Larian back on the plate. Love that the elder Mr. Kirkland told his wife to frick off with her bullshite.
Oscar and the maid gonna stir up some shite hopefully. I do like that for both of them.
Railroad Zaddy lives but man, Bertha gonna get the Alva Vanderbilt treatment.

Yeah, the cliffhanger hardly leaves much to the imagination.
