Dont see too many well placed cameos in flicks anymore.

Best Cameos:

-Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder

-Charlton Heston in Wayne's World

-Matt Damon in EuroTrip

-Bob Hope in Spies Like Us

-The entire Blues Brother Movie

Bad Cameos:
-Bobby Brown in Ghostbuster II
-Stan Lee in Every Gawdamn Marvel movie

No better cameos than in a Burt Reynolds movie.

Mike Tyson's cameo in The Hangover would've been much more surprising if the trailers would not have spoiled it.

Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder was not a cameo, it was a legitimate supporting role.

My favorite TV cameo was Jodie Foster on X-files. Yes - She played the voice of the talking tattoo in "Never Again" but she also appeared for about 2 seconds as a secretary at the FBI office.
