Man this topic has made me so hyped for the movie. Going by the trailer and the info I know so far I think Finn will be my favorite character.

Eh, the midichlorian thing didn't really bother me that much. Before Episode I, I assumed that the force was strong in certain people and some just might not have it at all. It at least gives a clue about how potential Jedi were found. And it at least somewhat explains the Yoda and Obi Wan conversation on Dagobah. Obi Wan says Luke is their last hope and Yoda says there's another (Leia). Well, if the force was just something you had to believe in and learn to become really powerful, couldn't they have recruited people from anywhere to just become powerful Jedi, regardless of their background and try to defeat Vader? If anyone could learn to use the force and become powerful, why didn't Obi Wan try to recruit some in the 20 years between Episodes III and IV? With more Jedi, it would have at least given them better odds of defeating Vader.

Leonard Fournette was born with a freakish ability but he also has to work his arse off.

Someone born with out his ability can still work really hard and ball.

the whole this dude can be a jedi and this dude cannot sucks.

The force was something to be mastered.

Something you had to devote tour life to practicing and believing in and mastering in order to use it.

Making it some bacteria in your blood stream and some just have more than others undermines the basic premise of the force.

It's always been this way.

Honestly, I've never heard this idea that "anyone can use the force" until yesterday on this board.

But midichlorians =/= The Force. The Force is an energy field produced by all living things - humans, other creatures, trees, etc. Midichlorians allow those with high enough levels in their body/bloodstream to be Force Sensitive.

Let's just forget about this shite forever, please. It smacks of some kind of scientology influence.

Seriously all of this.

Some people seem to be hoping they can be Jedi in real life... or thought this as kids

This is how you want it to be. It just happens to be basically wrong. Since '77 even.

Right. I don't see how anyone could watch the OT and think, oh, anyone can be a jedi as long as they try real hard."

It's pretty obvious in the OT that few people in the galaxy are born with the ability to use the Force and most aren't. Among those that can use it, there are varying degrees of aptitude. It's not like getting a High School Diploma.

As the excitement builds ahead of the new Star Wars film, a huge display of Stormtroopers has been assembled at the Great Wall of China.
The 500 replica characters were placed on the steps at the Juyongguan section of the wall near Beijing for a promotional event yesterday.
Stormtroopers are elite soldiers wearing white armed with blaster rifles who are the key ground troops of the Galactic Empire in the series.
Tickets for Stars Wars: Episode VII went on sale two days ago, even though the movie does not open in cinemas for another two months.
The Force Awakens, which is released on December 17, is set three decades after Return of the Jedi - the third film in the original trilogy.
Two cinema chains say the film is already their most pre-booked on record. On Monday the Vue chain sold 10,000 tickets in 90 minutes.
On the same day Odeon took ‘tens of thousands’ of bookings before lunchtime and ‘thousands’ each hour throughout the afternoon.

I just want to get my hands on one legitimate movie quality storm trooper costume. Not a cheap rubber band mask with a cheap plastic chest piece.

Not too difficult. Some are pretty expensive, but there are product reviews of the less expensive ones.

Here are some enhanced images of the Knights of Ren

By the look of their weapons they are not Dark Jedi. I was under the impression that the Knights were all a bunch of dark siders but now I don't think that's the case. Perhaps Kylo is the only Knight of Ren that has force abilities?

I'll admit I was concerned about John Boyega leading this film, until I saw the movie 'Attack the Block' just now. He was great in it. Looks a little like a young Denzel.
