Yup, he knew what would happen, and holy cow, this show today's episode was easily the best one this season

Do concur. I'm sure we will get another bombshell in the next few minutes to boot.

Robbie Amell is a better actor than I thought he would be.

Source of how he became him is the question. Being reverse flash Barry is still possible.

He wasn't fast enough to be inside the ion shield talking with himself, and changing clothes. Not with a loose connection with the speed force. Are there 2 reverse flashes?

So Barry's setting himself up for the Flashpoint.

Oh that Grodd ending!

Awesome episode tonight. When the general was prodding Stein and mentioned that a gorilla had been in that chair I thought to myself "if you were torturing Grodd in that chair, you are in for a rude awaking". Little did I know that awaking was coming in this episode.

So I'm still a little confused on the flashback or whatever it was when the general was talking to Wells and it showed the general shooting Caitlin, which then changed Wells' mind into giving up Stein. What was that about?

In the preview they show Wells basically separating into two of himself in front of Cisco (I think it was Cisco). Maybe that has something to do with who he pulled that off or something? I may be grabbing at straws with that.

I like your theory. At least your thinking outside the box.

Flashpoint Explain

Essentially, Barry saves his mom. Loses his powers, has to regain them through experimentation(takes several tries). However completely alters history as well. Kal-el doesn't land on the Kent farm, nor does he become Superman. Aquaman cheats on his wife with Wonder Woman, who then kills his wife, inciting a war. Batman is actually Thomas Wayne, and Martha is the joker, because Bruce died that night. The world is annihilated because of the war. Fun stuff.

At the last second Barry outruns the world killer explosion, catches up to himself running back into time to save his mother, and tackles himself to prevent it.

How can they tie all that in though?

They can't, and that's why I think it's possible he kills his mother. It's an easy write out to avoid everything else. Because in the end of the Flashpoint that is essentially what he does by tackling himself.

You can do Flashpoint without doing the entire story. Barry can save his mom and return to a dark future, then return to the past to stop himself from saving her. We don't have to go through all of the folderol with Superman and Aquaman and Batman.

So any insight on this? I didn't make out everything the general was saying. But was that a flashback that showed the general killing Caitlin, or was he threatening Wells and that was a flash forward showing what would happen if Wells didn't help him?

That makes a ton more sense now.
