He didn't. When Barry and Well's daughter figured out he was spelling "Jay", Barry said he was back on earth 1, which caused the masked guy to either get mad or frustrated (or both).

Ahh. Yea I saw that. That just told me that iron mask man is either Jay or knows something important about Jay. Not necessarily that Jay is good or evil.

Oh, no doubt. I think we are all just spit balling here. The guy with the mask was trying to tell Barry something about Jay. What he was trying to tell him is anyone's guess at this point.

Agreed, hell maybe zoom is actually future Jay and Jay doesnt know it

Some are arguing about the dirt vs the masked man being black. No one can agree. However, we know it isnt Barry's dad since the masked man was in there even before Wells daughter was. This was before the portal was open thus eliminating Henry.
There are other very spoilerish arguments that point at someone but even that has its holes.

His hands do appear to be a black guy's hands. It was hard to tell watching the show live, plus when they show the back of his head he has blond hair. I guess it will probably be this guy then:

In this last episode on Earth 1. Caitlyn calls for Jay to wake up when Earthquake guy attacks, and he never shows up until after they subdue him. There's never any explanation about where he was or why he didn't help.
