Or Zoom is Jay's future self that has been addicted to Velocity 6 and has become corrupt and decaying and the portal collapse from season 1 brought Zoom to this time line and he is trying to get cells from his younger self but realized Jay already took Velocity 6 and "sends" him to Earth 1 to get someone to create Velocity 9 that heals him.

Jay/Flash is in the cell, Zoom took his speed which is why he can't phase out of the cell. Jay is actually Hunter/Zoom.

But I still think that Zoom's real name on earth 2 will be Hunter Zoloman since that is Zoom's name in the comics. Now that doesn't mean that the person named Zoloman on earth 1 is the same guy on earth 2. Jay said that Zoloman was adopted and Zoloman is the name that the adoptive parents' gave him. So anyone could've been adopted by the Zoloman's on earth 2.
Now back to Jay, I think that the reason that the guy claiming to be Jay that came through the singularity is actually not Jay, but someone whose power is to change their appearance to someone else. That is why he didn't have the speed force when he came to Earth 1. I think his cells are deteriorating because he is having to keep that form for so long. I think the guy in the cell is the real Jay that Zoom captured, and the real Jay didn't get sucked into the singularity. Instead, Zoom sent a meta that could make himself appear to be Jay (which is why Wells thinks he's Jay).

add that part to my time travel theory. The Jay now is a shapeshifter meta Zoom sent to Earth 1 to coerce a Velocity 9. Jail cell is the real Jay.

But if Zoom can steal speed himself, why did he need Wells to figure out a way to steal Barry's speed? He said last night that he needed Wells to get Barry's speed, and I don't think Wells figured out how to steal Barry's speed until he was on earth 1.

Maybe he only knows how to do it on Earth 2. The different frequencies of Earth thing has come up a lot lately. Barry is in tune to Earth 1.

Ok for discussion sake let's take this as the truth. Earth 2 Jay is not actually Jay but someone working for Zoom. Whether it is a meta, young zoom, or the boogie man...doesnt matter.
That is the best acting job by a character pretending to be someone else in the history of ever. He came in guarded in a new world and didnt trust Earth 2 wells because of their history, which he found out how? Then he shows absolutely no signs of sketchiness or collusion (Earth 1 Wells/Revers Flash did). During which he falls for a girl and seduces her fairly easily.
Idk we just have seen nothing from Earth 2 Jay that supports that line of thought.

If the guy in the cell is the real Jay, maybe the mask he has on is really some sort of dampening field that keeps him from using his speed. Zoom put it on him to basically hold him until he could figure out how to steal his speed (which is why he needs Wells).

I agree that I don't think it's Jay either. Simply because he and Wells had fights and heated conversations earlier in the season about things that only Wells and the real Jay would know about. I don't see how a fake Jay would know all the details of he and Wells' past. Well's would have been able to call a fake Jay out by now.
I thing the best candidates are Henry Allen, Eddie Thawne and Wally West. I'd like to see it being Barry's dad, but I have a feeling it's going to be Eddie.

Not the acting of the actor, but the acting by the character if that makes sense. And the writing gives no indication that we should even suspect Jay of anything. I just dont see how they would end up justifying him working with/for zoom.
At least the old Wells had evil looks, sketchy disappearances, and it was intentionally written for us to question his motives. Jay hasnt had one "slip up" that suggests anything other than what he has claimed.

I must have missed that part, which is very possible. I didn't see where the masked fella mentioned Jay being good.
