Where does this fit in the MCU?

Seems like an alternate reality.

Completely agree. Doesn't sound like Ben Grimm.

Would have to be an alternate reality. Perhaps set in modern day but just with different innovations than they have in the MCU reality, or perhaps set in an alternate past.

Wouldn't work if it were set in the MCU reality unless the spaceship ride propelled them into the future and they were assumed dead, which I guess is also a possibility. Setting them in the MCU would be too much of a continuity break imo, no matter how they tried to explain it.

i wasn't impressed. i'm sure it'll be fine, but i have a soft spot for the original 2 movies from the 2000s.

Those two really sucked and had me worried about this one. It looks great though. I didn't realize they were going to set it in the 60s. Love that aspect as it will distance itself from the dreck Marvel has been putting out lately.

i never really read any comic series growing up. just cartoons and movies. so i don't know if this a "true to the source material" type of movie. i was an early teenager when the original 2 came out. it was entertaining enough.

What. Those movies are trash.

This is promising.

I saw Galactus.

And seeing Johnny flame on... made me smile.

Trailer looks good. I’m not a F4 guy. Never read a single comic, but I wasn’t much of an Avengers guy either, and they made me care about Iron Man. High hopes.

Trailer looked promising. Reed Richards with a stache, they couldn't get Pedro Pascal to shave that scraggly thing?

I can't believe they're using "Herbie". Didn't like it when it was introduced way back in the day and still don't like it.

I'm 50/50 on this. I didn't like that they used him to replace Johnny in the cartoon, but if he's just going to be part of the testament to Reed's genius (and likely some comic relief), then I'm okay with it.

And gravelly. Chiklis did a solid job on the voice in the first two movies.

While I'm not a fan of Pedro as Reed, his looked ok in the Trailer.

Agreed.

Seeing a comic book proper Galactus is freaking awesome.

I nerdgasm'd a little.

I hope the story is good and it's not all just visual servicing.

I’m surprised we got a power showcase from everyone except Reed. Or did I miss it? Maybe they’re still working on the CGI for his powers since they might be afraid it still looks like shite?

Still. Looks solid. Not reinventing the wheel. Just show us a solid movie with nothing crazy and most everyone will buy in. I think Ben looks great personally and Johnny. The only one I thought looked a little weird was Sue. Maybe it was the hair because the actress who plays her is fine AF in real life.

I think she looks really good as Sue. Pascal is the one I'm pretty meh on. I just don’t think he's anything special as an actor.

I'm not sure about this. I didn't hate the Alba/Evans FF movies (well, the first one).

I'm pretty down on Marvel overall, but I'm interested in Daredevil and, if this is any good, I'll come around, probably. No interest whatsoever in Brave New World. I'll catch it on streaming (or torrent).

Obviously, they're in an alternate universe, but they'll be in the MCU main timeline by the movie's end. Remember Disney just got the rights back to FF a few years ago, it would've been tough to implement them in an already established MCU.

I mean, I don’t think he’s an Academy Award nominee but he’s certainly capable of holding his own.

I just don’t know if he’s capable of playing a nerd, which Reed definitely is
