It’s funny reading these reactions and then going over to the Expanse sub Reddit and seeing those posters having the exact opposite reaction. A lot of them love the way the show was handled, especially Naomi’s plot. Even the book readers seem to love it which is surprising. But then again it’s the show’s sub so it’s going to be filled with huge fans.

WTF happened at the end with that martian ship? Did they vanish? Was something blocking the ring?
I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'm guessing that's just one more storyline the writers room cast aside so they could masturbate to Filip's struggle as a biracial 2nd class citizen in this white man's sol system.
To the point, back in season 4 Bobby is hunting down a bunch of missing ships, equipment, munitions, etc. Some of those assets went to the free navy. A lot of them disappeared inside the ring gate.
Season 6 will answer this, if it has any time leftover from fellating critical race theory.

Hopefully they kill off Marco quickly next season and dont have to deal with trashy Naomi family nonsense anymore
Unfortunately, you'll probably be dealing with that narcissistic megalomaniac all the way through.
But the way season 5 went, I expect instead of dieing he'll just lose a belter election to Dawes amidst wild claims of fraudulent voting terminals in the belt and late ballot drops.

the Expanse sub Reddit
Yeah, it is Reddit so anybody not agreeing with the belter agenda is probably sent into the vacuum. Reddit is a true shell of what it was meant to be.

Assuming they do drop the Critical Race Theory agenda, what happened to the Martian ship should get us back on course in season 6.

I will say, though, that I’m getting bored with Amos’ newly-found optimism and mercy. I keep waiting for him to go full Amos and crack some skulls.
I think what they've done with Amos is great. The writing and acting for that character has been more faithful than any other character save maybe Miller.
Amos is not a brute, but he is very mentally damaged, and he knows that. His childhood drama prevents him from having any sound moral judgement. He's fully aware of that, and that's why he latches on to characters he perceives as good people: Naomi, Holden, Prax, now Peaches. Even when he's leading, he has to have someone of strong morals to lean on.
IMO, the actor deserves awards for how he's portrayed Amos.

Mild spoilers but the ring occasionally “eats” ships and its unclear where they go, alien related. Major plot point in book 8 and presumably going to be explained in book 9.

Agree with all this and when Amos starts getting brutal on earth he knows it and says to himself “ I need to get back to my crew.”

I went there after last week's episode and to nobody's shock they were gushing over the second half of the season. Figured it was par for the course for that board.
I wonder just how much material they plan on covering next season. Could they realistically cover the remaining books? Maybe cover them to a point and doing a movie? I actually don't think they'd need to spend too many episodes completing the Marcos arc, but what could they do after that.

his convo with Holden at the end was great.

Marco needs to go away quickly because Laconia, the protomolecule/ring system builder aliens and even more advanced aliens who destroyed those guys are the important storylines in last 2 books and no way that can be covered in 1 season.

I haven't read past book 6 yet. I imagine it'll be another decade before we see any screen version of books 7 through 9.

I think it's pretty much given that next season will be book 6.

It is pretty normal for a show sub Reddit to be like that. Exceptions being shows like Game of Thrones or Arrow (they intentionally stopped being an Arrow sub for a while). But the book readers in most show subs are generally hypercritical but these guys aren’t.

I’ve seen that floated too. I just hope they don’t rush things.

This was my thought initially, but why bring up Laconia if they don't plan on diving into it more next season?

Yep, even showed the Laconian shipyards in sky building the superships

Is that what that was?
As far as the books go, is this a completed book series or still in progress? I don’t want another Game of Thrones situation.

Laconia is talked about plenty in books 5 and 6. I'm not going to spoil anything, but you know Laconia is a big deal in book 5.

9th and final book is coming out this year.

To be fair, syfy had better material to work with. Book 5 is weak, and if you don't like westerns, season 4 is a hard sell.
I am curious what the budget of the Sci-Fi series was compared to Amazon. I am sure they wanted to insert some SJW but they also may have needed to add filling on ship plots to stay in budget. I could also be completely wrong.
