Yeah wasted a season that could have been badass Laconia stuff

Only enjoyable parts were Amos and Peaches. Also liked the Avasarala stuff.

and we get Naomi sitting on a ship crying about her kid for 6 hours. This show is getting bad.

With the way everything is (so unfortunately) political now, I assume that was driven by politics.

The death of Alex wasn’t handled particularly well. Hot take I know

The Drummer shite was basically nonsense again

No explanation on how Bobbie rendezvoused with Naomi

Steven Strait sucks

Thank god for Amos

Yeah he’s been pretty good for sure

Holden in the books had a certain charm that Strait completely lacks. Strait is too emo.

Amos, Avasrala, Peaches are all dynamite though.

Sorry, but if anyone is buying the deep, emotional bond between Holden and Naomi, please stand up. It's as forced and contrived as the Rey-Lo coupling from Star Wars. And 3 episodes wasted on Naomi and Philip, talking about their feelings.

And when did Drummer become such a emotional weakling ? She should have popped that Marcos toadie at the first chance, and then we didn't even get THAT satisfaction !

I miss Miller.

What would be great is Belter subtitles for the non-Belter scenes.

Still, they did give props to the character , as best they could.

Not the character’s fault the actor was a dumbass. Put them all in a tough position.

Actually thought the episode was solid. Not great, but solid. No Bobbie riding a missile? Damn. More whiny crap from drummer and Naomi? Good grief. Drummer should have just popped karal in the back of the head. Seems like this episode could have taken place 3 episodes ago without all of the Naomi filler. Still, looking forward to the final season. At least this season ended on a higher note than the previous few episodes.

His chuckle and "I like winning" line was great.

I wish he had more moments like that.

They did end this season on an up note, but it was a rough go this season.

1. Alex - We all know he was going away, but honestly I was expecting something better. He screwed up in the real world, but space cowboy was a loved character. Essentially it was a death off-screen

2. Holden and Naomi need to not be a focus point in future episodes. They burned far too many episodes in S5 on this.

3. We need more Amos, Peaches and Avasarala.

4. The cliff hanger was solid.

I know Season 5 was following Book 5, but from a TV perspective it fell really flat. You do not need to follow the books too close. Through season 4 it is all about protomolecule/aliens and a giant freaking blue sphincter out by Uranus. This is what people want in the TV show.

Poli-rant on - The belter crap of season 5 just seemed like we were moving all the BLM/SJW shite from the summer into a science fiction show. Poli-rant off

Hollywood just can’t help itself. Hopefully the desire to make more money will help them correct for such deviances.

Easily my least favorite season. Climax was weak. Has there been any other season where the finale wasn't about saving a whole lot of people/species/humanity?

We saved Naomi. slow clap. Talk about an odd shift in narrative

Why did she keep putting tally marks on the wall? I feel like we watched her do that half the season.

Good call. She was obviously doing it to track how many times she went into the oxygen deprived area of the ship. They made it a point to show her doing it every time and then last episode let us not talk about it and just blow the ship up.

It was almost like - hmmmm, this episode needs to be 2 minutes longer. OK we will show Naomi carving in the wall.

They toned down the rocks hitting earth, skipped the Martian prime minister storyline, and had a heavy focus on the Belter shite.

Not a fan of any of those moves

Yeah, they screwed up here, bigly.

The SyFy seasons are really kicking Amazons butt here and this seems to be a theme of Amazon shows. They cannot sustain seasons, at least in the few series I watched on Prime.

To be fair, syfy had better material to work with. Book 5 is weak, and if you don't like westerns, season 4 is a hard sell.

I do think Amazon is trying to make some kind of current events, socio-political statement with the belters though, and that's a travesty.

The entire season felt this way. They had so much momentum too. I understand the book may have been boring compared to the rest, but folks like us can get lost in the sci fi backdrop if nothing else. It's like they forgot what got the audience to this point. We saw little to nothing of the devastation to earth, and the Mars plot was just "oh so mars sold some shite to marco" and nothing more.

WTF happened at the end with that martian ship? Did they vanish? Was something blocking the ring?

It looked like they were being destroyed, but I’m guessing they just passed through and it was all for dramatic effect. I’m a Hodor though so I can’t be sure.
