Season 5 premieres on 12/16. I'm glad that it is getting one more season and a proper ending. I've been a huge fan since it started on Syfy.

I only watched the 1st season, because I don't have Amazon Prime. How are they going to end the series at season 6 when the books are going up to 9 novels?

I just watched the first 4 seasons over the last few weeks. I really look forward to season 5 in December.

Are the books all telling the same main story with the same characters? I'm just wondering if spinoffs would be more appropriate than more seasons? Or are they ending things early because they have to pay all of that Lord Of The Rings money.

I'm currently reading book 8, and there is still the core cast of characters from the Rocinante.

Book 7 takes place 30 years after the events of book 6, but still carries the same main story; the slow zone and its multiple rings, and how humanity is now colonizing these worlds. I don't know how the show handles things, but there is so much unanswered from the first 6 books, that its hard for me to see how they will handle the ending at season 6.

Seriously. What the frick. How many books are they packing into this season? I understand not dragging this out too much longer, but thought we'd get 7 or 8 seasons.

I'm just waiting on the last book. I've enjoyed the tv series although I pictured a lot of the characters older in my mind.

I think that they are going to keep to the book per season approach (except Book 1 spanned 1.5). I am convinced that S6 will end with Book 6.

It's a logical, clean ending as the next book is 30 years later. The next 2 books, and presumably the 3rd, are also pretty damn ambitious. Based on what I've read, the show is already pretty expensive so I guess I shouldn't be too shocked.

I think they will do a fine job and the show will end well with Season 6. That said, can't help but be disappointed if we don't get those last 3 books. I have seen some wonder if a movie or short series could follow with enough demand but the final 2 books (and again, assuming for the 3rd) are some of the longest and full of detail.

So who knows, maybe it is picked up down the road. I am glad we won't be left with our peckers in our hand if it got the plug prematurely but definitely a bummer it's going to wrap up.

This would be pretty nice. Expanse has been my favorite series since maybe BSG or Eureka. Wanted this one to last longer.

I did that some time last year. It only took about three weeks. I meant to watch one episode each night, after I got in bed. I ended up watching two or three episodes a night. Stayed up til 2 am one Thursday night because I had to see how a season ended. I tried to find something else I could get into as much afterwards, but haven't satisfied that Jones. Tried a bunch of other sci-fi shows, but they all had goofy aliens that seemed silly.

There will be. The last book is supposed to come out some time next year. As already mentioned though, the 6th book ends at a pretty good stopping point.

The last three books will really make their own little mini trilogy that continues the story a bit farther.

Interesting to note that Cas Anvar will not be in season 6.

Guess there was some fire to the unwanted sexual advance smoke.

I have never binged a show as hard as I did the Expanse. I couldn't find anything ever so then I proceeded to binge read the series. Like absurd. I think I started the Expanse over Christmas break last year and by end of Feb I finished the show and 8 books. Not someone who is prone to binging TV or like crazy.
