This show might do well, but no one will accept these characters moving forward. Might as well say "The Last Jedi did well so obviously everyone accepted Kathleen Kennedy's vision for the characters." Same thing here.

Play dumb all you want. They'll need major retcons in whatever "Green Lantern" thing comes next for there to be interest from the core demographic. This was at best forgettable and at worst a complete slap in the face. There is no way to come away from it feeling excited about how they handled these characters or the general "lore" of Green Lanterns.
