That one episode was so goofy but the bones are still there. Still enjoying it.
Also, I didn't realize how much I like Kyle Chandler in just about everything he is in. He's been great. I guess I never really think of him but I also never watched Friday Night Lights.

Bro space is dark, it’s a vacuum, there are no particles to reflect it in space. Anybody with a slight education knows this.

Serious question- do you understand what radiation is, and how it works?
Radiation is unimpeded in a vacuum.

And btw the absence of light doesn’t stop the ring from working, it isn’t solar powered, it’s will powered and generates its own light. The only thing that can do what that smoke did is a black lantern. Now are they just gonna throw them in there or mash them up with another group, maybe. It’s still dumb and escapes the logic you’re trying to use to explain it.

Interrogation scene was stupid, we’ve gone over it. Some of the other things you mentioned aren’t even scenes. It’s ok, I know you know it’s bad but you can’t admit it.

Maybe we're just looking at different verbiage, but my point- the sun is like an incredibly bright floodlight. If you face it at all, it's blindingly bright. If you face away from it, everything is lit up... which is why we can see Saturn and Jupiter with the naked eye, just from the intense light hitting it and reflecting back. There's a black backdrop simply because there is nothing to shine on, but that doesn't make it "dark". The light is still flooding through it.
The "darkness guns" employed in the show were negating the light of the power ring, so he couldn't form a construct. Somebody said if "darkness" bothered the ring, a GL couldn't operate in space. My point is that "space" is not "dark" in that interferes with the ring, or any other light; it is actually the opposite. It allows for more perfect projection of the hard light constructs if anything, because there is nothing to interfere with it.

Again that isn’t how the ring works. It produces its own light powered by the wearers will. Not the sun or a light bulb.

Chandler really does make a good Hal Jordan, better than I expected.
John Stewart and Sinestro are also well cast. My take on the characters:
Stewart is still working through shite internally, will arrive mentally on the proper frame of mind to be a true Green Lantern by the end of the series. He basically has to drop all the outside noise and distractions that mama, the manhunter, etc are throwing at him, and hone in on the true purpose of a Lantern. You can't pick and choose who you serve and protect, basically.
Sinestro- I don't think he's the comic book villain with the yellow ring just yet. I think he IS more of an "ends justify the means" guy, and he DID see a threat within the Guardians (which to be fair, the show is beating us over the head that THIS Guardian ain't noble and right), and he acted on it. I think we're gonna see Hal end up springing him from prison so the two can combat the rogue Guardian, which would be an existential threat (as the Manhunters were, and which this Guardian sure seems to embrace). I think John stays on Earth for that, and the "dead Hal" is a decoy and cover, maybe from the same thing the meat processor operated on.
I see Sinestro and Hal (maybe next season if not at the end of this one) defeating the Guardian, but Sinestro then splitting off and becoming the guy we know afterwards.
I still see the alien hit squad as Atrocitus, the Red Lantern. Maybe doesn't have his ring yet, same way Sinestro doesn't have his either. Perhaps we need an event to create those rings, which we're working towards in the show. It IS called "Lanterns" and not GREEN Lantern, after all.
I sure hope we haven't seen Star Sapphire (pink ring) yet, but somehow I'm getting a bit leery that they will slide the Manhunter into that slot.

I wish they’d gone a little more sci-fi in his physical appearance, but not the biggest deal. His characterization is spot on so far, can’t wait for more.

Yeah.. they threw so much at you in one episode that it's going to throw everyone off.
Im guessing thats how Guy got the ring. However, Jon still checks if Hal has it?
They are going to have a lot to explain in future episodes.. they make it a point that Hal says "lanterns dont kill". Yet, he leaves him in that car..
And I guess , he didn't technically kill the other alien since he set off his brain bomb..
Jon isn't a lantern yet, so he's got the green light to snipe someone?
