The next episode is the season finale. If they knock it completely out of the park, it may salvage the season. But Jesus, it feels like this season has been so boring. Seems like this last episode was a midseason finale or something, not the penultimate episode. And I have to be honest, this whole Presidential plot line is not very interesting. I just want to see Homelander go completely off the rails to set up the last season.

Is Homelander's skin vulnerable? If not how are they going to give him the virus? In breast milk maybe

Ooooooh. Fun thought, but Firecracker would have to pump because she's a super too.

So the next episode is about the right wingers shooting the president right? The irony of this show playing up “Trump is literally an evil horrible super villain” and then this happens. What a fricking joke

Nutter? You don’t think that the next episode is a little bit ironic now? I thought the show was inherently political so I could discuss politics and how it affects the show here. Or is that only one way?

I wonder if the shows creator will even finish next season now. His TDS may make him stoke out.

If Trump is Homelander then he should be victorious next season

Yes, because overly political shows like this one that casts an entire movement as the equivalent to Nazis couldn't possibly lead to real life violence.

I didn't realize they had to change the name of the finale.

They somewhat allude to that in the last episode. Homeland drinks it from a cup and looks at Firecracker and says "Cilantro?"

But the virus was going to immediately kill Kimiko before her leg was cut off. There is no way Firecracker would survive long enough to get in her system to do it.

I hate how on the nose this season was. I hope next season isn't like that

Next season’s political messaging isn’t gonna look very smart when we’re a year into a Trump presidency and he’s not rounding people up into camps and “Making America Supe Again”. But anyways, sorta okay end to the season and a good set up for 5. But I swear this season was such a letdown as a standalone. We have to wait too long between seasons for them to give a filler season with more set up than pay off on its own.

Kinda how I feel, this is what we needed all season, way too much of a boring season relying on over the top crap instead of good story.

Great finale. Set up a strong final season. Just wish they offed Firecracker. She adds nothing to the show other than to serve as a parody, and I don't see what need there is for the political stuff now that Homelander got his puppet.

There is no Trump character in this show.

They poked fun at the pizza gate dipshit and a few other things oh well just let it go.

what i thought was poetic, was when she went on her tirade. "thats the annie you want. the down to go down whenever. the perfect girl. not someone who is depressed or fricked up, etc..."

yes, actually, that is what every man is wanting. keep things simple.

The evil-Superman-style character Homelander is becoming more and more of a direct Trump analogue this season. What was your thinking there?

He’s always been a Trump analogue for me. I’ll admit to being a little more bald this season than I have in past seasons. But the world is getting more coarse and less elegant. The urgency of our team’s writing reflects that. We’re angrier and more scared as the years go on, so that is just being reflected in our writing. But part of it is where Homelander’s story naturally goes. He has this really combustible mix of complete weakness and insecurity, and just horrible power and ambition, and it’s just such a deadly combo. Of course he would feel victimized that people are angry that he dated a Nazi. All he ever wants is to be the most powerful person he can be, even though he’s completely inadequate in his abilities to handle it. So it’s white-male victimization and unchecked ambition. And those issues just happened to reflect the guy who, it’s just still surreal to say it, was fricking president of the United States.

He's not trump though he's a psychotic supe that loves breast milk.

I don't see many similarities honestly. They could have easily went that route with Dakota Bob.
