The kiss of death for shows on Netflix is going to eventually turn off fans of these new shows.

They’re all basically making really long movies split into a 1 season format.

There was a time when they'd call this a mini series. A self contained story that was known to be one and done.

Now they pitch it as a 'new series', then just cancel it.

I guess original ideas remain non-profitable.

Isn’t this the show people call Stranger Things with old people? How in the world is that an original idea?

But knowing this is a limited thing now with a decent ending (per this thread) im more likely to watch it.

I called it Stranger Things with old people as well. It's what I thought of after the 2nd or 3rd episode.

They are similar in that a group of kid and now old people come across odd things/creatures and are on a mission to figure it out and expose it. Similar to the Hawkins Lab in Stranger Things there is this community run by guy that is hiding a secret and the old people are trying to expose it.

If you liked ST, you should give it a shot.

Good question, maybe because he went on a soul finding journey it was given to him to be kind?

agree with most, long movie put into episodes, but kept me watching the next episode. Don't see a 2nd season working as it ended.

This wouldn't have happened if they had shown Gina Davis getting railed a few times

Not directly, but it was growing on the tree where Mother went to die. Thus, some connection.

There was some kind of Cocoon situation going on, clearly. They never explain it fully, but you don't necessarily need that to appreciate where they go with the whole thing.

Yeah I agree. It would be difficult, but Blaine was still twitching on the ground. So they gave some wiggle room if they got extended another season.
I would've been the same format as Stranger Things. Each season is kind of a stand alone but still connected to the root villain.

Oh yea he was. So there is that, but mother and kids died? He still has the tub of honey? so bring on another season. too bad it is done. I'll keep watching if they do.

Geriatric Stranger Things.

Ehhh, not surprising it didn’t survive.
