Got excited for a second when the X-wing was coming in. Thought Luke or Ahsoka was going to be accompanying Grogu
But the Tatooine situation sounds a bit like it meets what their purpose originally was.
Also, just sending Grogu alone seems like a bit of a dick move by Luke. At least accompany him and deliver him safely. As it was, R2 just dropped him off in the middle of a gang war
Although I loved the past 2 episodes and this one had it's moments, I agree with a lot of what people are saying...
the Mod Squad needs to go. They're just so out of place here; maybe you can fit them on Coruscant, but not Tatooine. For one thing, those scooters must have some hella ceramic wax job, to keep the paint all bright and sparkly while everything else is literally sandblasted on the planet. Not sure why they're trying to make the girl popular- does she even have a name, or a useful mod? But they sure did zoom in on her a couple of times.
Pig dudes should have put up a better fight. Did they kill anyone, or just back off the cliff? Note to self: pig dudes aren't very useful as muscle. Got jack-slammed down the stairs by the wookie, late defending Boba from the space ninjas, got worked by a group of aliens.
The scorpion droids can't seem to target anything. Like others said, you have a crowd filling the street (and a straight one at that), and you can't even hit a roughly 50x50 square foot target (the crowd)?

yeah, Luke seems to be making all of the mistakes the Jedi made in the past

HOW DID THOSE DROIDS NOT HIT ONE SINGLE PERSON RUNNING???? (also that sequence reminded me of Episode I with obi wan and qui-gon running from the droidekas after attempting to reach the viceroy)
For as many Pykes as were shot, the streets should have been lined with bodies. Though there were never more than a few in any one screen shot.
At least the droidekas could roll quickly. These big ones moved at a snails pace, yet from shot to shot they were somehow always just behind the fleeing resistance.

Anyone else got Tatooine fatigue? Can we get another planet, please.

When I saw the X-Wing I got so excited, thought for a second that we were gonna see Luke in Tatooine for the first time since ROTJ

Holy balls that was dumb
So bad I'm going to assume he did it to scan all around with his eye before committing to one target. Altho still that's not super helpful considering the given shootout

This series was a hot mess and incredibly disappointing, but I just came here to say Robert Rodriguez can EABOD because he sucks.

The series namesake is at best maybe the 4th most important character in the show: 1)Mando 2)Grogu 3)Fennec Shand 4)Boba Fett.
BTW, did anyone else notice how Mando’s gift to Grogu paid off? He totally got nailed by the part he used the force to remove from the Scorpenek annihilator droid. I guess you might say he forcibly removed it!! But it shot out like a canon ball. His Mandalorian armor saved his life.

I've been wondering about the overall protection/effectiveness of Gogu's chainmail armor.
Say, Grogu faced a lightsaber, or worse, a pointed darksaber. I could see it being effective against a slashing swing, but would it protect against a saber's thrust?
The amor is porous, and part of the laser light could pierce through those holes, right? Same concept applies to laser shots from a blaster.

Grogu's chain mail is relatively open compared to good chain mail. I think they will treat it similar to quality chain mail though. Chain mail is/was more effective against stabbing blows than most people think. While you can get a very slight penetration to actually stab you would have to stab hard enough to open individual links given Grogu's lack of mass it would just push him away before opening links of Beskar. Something like an ice pick or maybe Needle from GOT could be effective though.
The funny thing about the droid bolt that hit him is that chain mail doesn't do much against the effects of blunt weapons as it doesn't spread out the force. So if the bolt was meant to show the chain mail at work they are seeing it as far more effective than it actually is so I would imagine in most circumstances they will treat it is near impenetrable.

The series as a whole was not good but not as bad as people have expressed. Boba Fett is just not that interesting because we have Mando. Mando is what we all thought BF would be based on the old EU. BF did to much walking around and not being a crime lord. I hope we never see those MOD characters again. Terrible. That wookie should have died the number of times he was shot.
This was a swing and miss by Dave and John.

I think they trusted the series to someone that couldn't quite pull off the series. Rodriguez is a solid B movie director but I think this was outside of his comfort zone.
I didn't hate the series, I thought it was decent, but compared to the top of the line Star Wars/MCU on Disney + this was a clear step behind.
The question is, especially if Deborah Chow's Obi-Wan sputters, who do you bring in to be a show runner? Rick Famuyiwa has something like a billion projects lined up right now. Bryce Dallas Howard is about to start shooting Flight of the Navigator. Patty Jenkins really wanted to do Star Wars stuff but apparently hates Kathleen Kennedy with a white hot passion.
Peyton Reed might be free after the next Ant-Man movie but after that you start to run out of people who've worked closely with Fav and Fil on Disney+.

That was really confusing. It's almost like they completely cut out her backstory since there was so much focus on her in the finale.
What bothered me most about the Mods is it seemed like they were written by a 20 year old. "ok, here we have this young gang that will have cool modifications like tattoos. Also, since they're young, they will clearly be right about everything they say and will correct all the old dumb people constantly".

Yeah, I was sad to see the pig boys go out like that. Probably my favorite moment from episode 1 was when they actually fought off that group of mercenaries. It was about the only time the pig boys have been shown as capable fighters and not just cannon fodder.

My gut feeling watching the final episode was that I was supposed to like it. Yet, I felt somehow guilty for not loving everything. Basically a microcosm for the season as a whole.
"The Book of Boba Fett" title now makes sense as this was supposed to explain how Boba is alive and ties into the Mandolorian show's timeline and lore.
My problem is that the plot of the show was too linear. To me, an anthology series would have made more sense.
The overall look and feel of the show was more inline with the prequel trilogy, which perhaps makes sense considering that Boba's mystique has long since been rewritten to account for his lineage.
Other things about the show as a whole. The Mod Squad while lame in the delivery, I did like the idea of exploring bionic humans. In the movies, we mostly see prosthesis as a replacement for damaged limbs. They really could have explored how bionics are used to put weak humans on par with superior alien races or force users. Thus giving the characters skills similar to what is seen in say Mass Effect.
The battle in the finale looked a lot like a war movie about something from the Iraq/Afghanistan wars. I feel like at some point we'll see some BS hit piece about how the episode was "racist."
Things I loved aside from the two main Mando episodes: the score and art in the credits were great. The space western feel, especially with Vanth and Bane. Jetpack fight scene in the finale. Most parts when Boba had his helmet on.

yeah, the idea for the mod squad is ok...but the execution was awful.
Also I can't help but laugh to see a "speeder-bike" rolling through a warzone at like 30mph
Those have to be one of the slowest vehicles in star wars.

I think it's safe to say that the character of boba fett was not strong enough to carry a show by itself. This story arc could have been told in the mandalorian because this show was more of a extension of that show. He was never a major character in the Star Wars movies.
I think the part of this show that really bothers me the most is the continuing degrading of the character of Luke Skywalker. He was never a major character in the Star Wars movies.
I think the part of this show that really bothers me the most is the continuing degrading of the character of Luke Skywalker. they've turned him into a jerk rather then some wise Jedi knight. Luke Skywalker became a Jedi knight because of his attachments to people. In fact the only way he was able to beat Darth Vader was when his sister, Princess Leia, was threatened by Vader. That was the point when Luke raged on his daddy and kicked his behind.

The chick MOD squad actress must have given the worst performance since Sophia Coppola in Godfather III.

Simply not true. They could have done MUCH better with the writings bud storyline and that falls solely on the creators of the show. They had a lot to work with, and could have explored much more with him being a crime lord or flashbacks to his time as a bounty hunter. Heck they could have even have fleshed out more of a conflict with the Hutts.
