I have spoken.
This is the way.
Just kidding... but not really.

Chapter 7 Finale. 60 mins
Great episode overall. Pales in comparison to the last two episodes, but had plenty of great sequences: Boba vs Bane, Boba/Rancor rampage, Grogu returns & force wields, Rancor goes King Kong, Cobb Vanth still alive.
While there was almost an entire episode of fighting/action, the pacing & choreography seemed off in parts. This was a main complaint in chapters 1 & 3 both directed by Rodriguez. Sure enough, he directed the finale. Dude has consistently underwhelmed this series.
For the record, no Quira, Han, Crimson Dawn, Rex, Omega, Bossk...or Tusken Warriorette (RIP?)

That last sequence in the N1 was fantastic. Mandalorian season 3 will be great now that those two are back together.

Since I was pretty sure I couldn't get back to sleep I watched it again and I am convinced Cad Bane may well be alive of course I was "sure" Vanth lived. Why else would Filoni hold the extra beat so you would notice the distress beacon flash...unless it was intentional misdirection.
Vanth is dead seemingly confirmed by the Weequay barkeep when he said "Gunned him down in cold blood" after Mando said he was sorry about the marshall. But then he lives! Gonna get some mods.
I think Max Rebo and Garsa are probably still alive too.

Mistake killing Bane, he had endless uses in the future of these series
Was that Olyphaunt in the Bacta? Kinda hard to tell.
Was pretty frustrated with Boba having no tricks up his sleeve the majority of the episode. Just sat around asking other people what to do, finally came out and kicked some arse though.
Rodriguez is so mediocre, how about Fennec just reading off the screenplay for us in regards to the plan.

I attribute that to the stupid colorful biker gang who’s bikes go 30 mph. I hate they added them, brought the series down imo.
I was underwhelmed by the episode. But the previous two made it bearable. I give the season a 7/10. Grogu and Din are the face of Star Wars right now and I’m completely fine with that.

This whole season felt like after I watched Eternals. This is nice and all….but I’m not sure why we’re here.
Just give me more Grogu! People are gonna lose their Sh!& whenever he talks for the first time. Ha

I tend to agree. interesting character, but the way they wrote him in this story lead to that outcome.

Yes. And it appears he's going to be getting some upgrades.

They had a plan, that quickly went to shite. The absence of a backup plan was annoying. Of course, all bets were off when the killer droids showed up.

Definitely paled in comparison to the previous 2 episodes, but it wasn't terrible.

The finale fell flat for me. I even found the action boring which is odd because there were some cool ideas. I respect RR because he obviously has knowledge and love for the history of cinema as the Rancor/King Kong scene and other scenes show but I don't think he has my tastes when it comes to Star Wars. Overall I give the series a 7 out of 10.. There was alot of great along with alot of not so great.

As a fan I agree as I would love to have Bane in the future but I understand as it comes full circle now. Bane trained Boba when he was a young boy. Now the student becomes the master.
I loved they showed the metal plate in Bane's head. Their original fight his how Boba got the dent in his helmet and Bane the plate in his head.

Pretty sure that was Vanth in the Bacta in the post credit scene.

They have to do a Cad Bane show at some point and get his back story
Had to be reason they threw him in there like that

Clearly the episodes directed by him, were by far and away the worst of the season.

I really enjoyed the finale, but man…you can really tell the difference in director between Rodriguez and some others

If you watch the Clone Wars I think his backstory is well told.

The student becomes the master and Boba kills him. A showdown that has been long in waiting and shows Boba is now the best.

I think they go forward with Rangers of the New Republic with Oliphant instead of Carino

Rodriguez is so mediocre,
He is, and always has been, a B movie director. He got the Boba series because he stepped in, at the last second, to direct an episode of the Mandalorian and pulled it off with a pretty good action episode.
He was very experienced, he was a "get this in on time" type of director/show runner, and he was probably cheap. So he got Boba Fett. Fav and Fil could hold his hand if there were any problems!
Except they have their own irons in the fire so they couldn't hold his hand the entire way. Rodriguez has always, always, had problems with pulling off special effects. Even when he has decent budgets he just doesn't have the eye for it. Give him an A budget and he will give you a B movie.
Now Deborah Chow's "Obi-Wan" is on the clock and we know that Chow gets Star Wars, particularly Fav and Fil's vision of it. The problem is Kathleen Kennedy had a year and a half to "improve" the show and I'm not sure Chow can drag the series across the finish line with that sort of "help."

Grogu back with Mando…sigh. What a waste of Season 2.
Pretty meh finale. RR just doesn’t have it directing wise the way some others clearly more talented than him. They should sideline him for Mando’s Season 3.

I doubt Bane is dead. Like someone else said, they showed the sensor beeping on his chest. Should we assume that he has all of this tech and nothing protecting him a bit under his clothes?
I actually thought it was Bane in the bacta tank at first. For about a second I was trying to figure out why he was kept by Boba, but then it made all the sense in the world for it to be Vanth.
I enjoyed the episode for what it was, but it did feel off. There were so many moments where I didn't enjoy a scene because I kept thinking how dumb the actions were.
1. Santo has a giant gun, but he is attacked with melee weapons. Then, when they get close enough to stab him, they just dogpile on him?
2. The girl Mod suggests that she will distract the Scorpion in the sniping scene. The scorpion was already shooting away from them. All she did was draw attention to their spot. She should've been on a different roof top.
3. How about that spin move shot by the Mod as he was helping Santo
I did pretty much enjoy all of the scenes with Mando. I liked him pulling his gun and saying "This is the way". I liked their entrance with their jet packs as the mayor aide was delivering terms. I also liked how ruthless Fennec was at the end. No questions asked, she just hanged the mayor. That was great.
ETA: One more thing. I am surprised they didn't have a scene where Grogu's chainmail was needed.
