It was either Star Wars or Empire, for sure. It was legitimately different than any other film experience before or since. I get the Rocky Horror midnight movie folks have their thing and that's great for them. But to have been born between 1965 and 1970 and to have experienced those first two films at that age, in real time, in that entertainment environment was lightning in a bottle and likely cannot be repeated.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Mall St. Vincent Shreveport, LA, age 6. I loved Indiana Jones. End of my kindergarten year. I was so excited my parents took me, it was a surprise.

The Phantom Menace opening day (was 9yrs old). My dad took me to a 6am showing and then checked me into school late. I had grown up watching the OT on repeat so this was an awesome experience seeing Star Wars in a theater.
Now I make sure to take my dad opening night/day to see any of the new Star Wars movies since the start of the sequels to return the favor.

Interstellar baked out of my mind was a pretty good one
What was that fricking stupid arse comedy from like 2015 with the hot dogs and shite in the grocery store.. That was a blast in theaters if you were as fricked up as me
ETA Sausage Party! Never seen it since and I’m sure it’s probably garbage

My dad brought me to see Rambo First Blood Part II. It was great for several reasons.
My dad was not a movie guy but knew I was dying to see it.
It was rated R and I was underage but was allowed in since my dad was bringing me. Felt like I got access to secret city.
The movie was awesome and my dad enjoyed it. Talked about scenes on the way home.
Man! I'd give anything to go back and relive that day!

Probably seeing Race With The Devil at the Delta in Opelousas with my cousins. We had some good times back then.

quote:. Shut the front door! I was going to post this exact memory! I was four and we sat in the theater and watched it twice. The opening Hoth scenes were absolutely masterful. The final battle with Luke where even as a kid I realized Vader was just toying with Luke. It was completely opposite of New Hope because it began and ended so bleakly for the Rebellion.
Empire Strikes Back at Plaza Plitt at the Twin City Mall in Monroe. I don't think there will ever be another experience like this again.

I was around 13/14 when "Star Wars" came out in 1977 and seeing that for the first time at that age in a movie theater was an experience I'll never forget...
People were overwhelmed with this...nothing like this had ever been scene before...

I'll go with "most memorable."
My big sister took me to see Star Wars first week in came out in 1977. I was 7 and she was 17. Sitting in a completely packed theater and we were sitting dead center and it was awesome. Started off with the scroll and she leaned down to read it to me to make sure I got it all.
But just after they escaped the Death Star I needed to go pee and couldn't wait. When I told her, she didn't want to get up so was pointing and explaining where the bathroom was.
This was an older theater that had a middle isle that opened to double doors which opened onto the main lobby. she told me to go up the aisle and take a left and the bathrooms were right there. so, I went up the aisle, DID NOT go through the double doors and proceeded to go out the EXIT at the back left of the theater, flooding the theater with daylight.
I still had no clue I went the wrong way, so I kept walking along the wall taking lefts to find the bathroom. eventually realized I'd screwed up and went back to the door and started knocking and trying to pry it open with sticks.
Finally just sat there defeated.
A few minutes later my sister came walking around the corner looking scared but pissed. I'm sure I was crying by that point and she grabbed me and we went back to the theater main box office where she explained what had happened and they actually let us back in, but by this time they were mid attack on the Death Star and we were standing in the back and she was furious.
Then I grabbed her arm and said, "I never did pee."

Die Hard when I was at LSU.
The father of all actions movies to follow.
The scene where McLane jumps out of the window with the firehose wrapped around him. Me and someone in the row in front of me say "f&^king A" at the same time.

Caught a triple feature with my grandfather and cousin. We saw Gran Torino, Taken, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop. I really miss those days.
