Sounds about right to me. I think it'll be very similar to his Apes films. I think half the people will like it, and half won't

If you think this man is a great actor, then you should be even more incensed by it. It's the same problem with casting Idris Elba as Heimdall. Why waste a "great actor" just to check a diversity box on what is essentially a background character?

I have no problem with black characters in comic books. Steel is one of my favorite comic book characters. I really wish they would make a good movie with him that isn't animated. Cyborg is a great character too. Jim Gordon is white.
ETA: Your reaction to race swapping major characters who are white should be the same as the leftist reaction would be if they race swapped Black Panther.

I haven’t heard that it’s controversial at all. I’ve heard it just has a different third act than most superhero movies that don’t exactly include a final showdown or battle scene with a villain that most do. And that’s from ViewerAnon who is pretty consistent as well. The longer run time is also testing very well with audiences
