I mean, I get it. After Crazy Rich Asians, she’s pretty much become hot for movie roles and bigger stuff than TV. But she has to honor her contract and pass on those roles to do her show:

quote:

"So upset right now that I'm literally crying. Ugh. F***," she tweeted Friday afternoon, followed by "F***ing hell" less than an hour after ABC announced that the family comedy was returning for a sixth season. When another Twitter user congratulated her on the renewal, calling it "great news," she replied, "No it's not."

She blamed her tweets on a “bad day” claiming she was just casually using the word frick.

She forgot she posted “no it’s not” [a good thing to be renewed] and “dislike” to the IG announcement I guess.

There should be an opt out clause after doing the same show for 5 years. I'm sure they could write her off the show or only use her in certain episodes.

I get being frustrated bc where you think your career is headed but it’s pretty shitty act out like that when you have all these other people (including your own husband) who live off of working on this show and youre doing your best to sabotage it.

Also plenty of careers have tanked from higher levels of success, and burning bridges like that is a quick way to make that happen.

I guess she should have got her lawyers to put that in her contract. However I bet at the time she was overjoyed to sign a 5 year deal, or whatever it was. Contracts are usually 6 or 7 so they can reach the syndication magic number.

It must be awful to be a well compensated lead actor/actress on a critically acclaimed network tv show that keeps getting renewed...

We have all seen actors bail on successful TV series to make the next big step... and wind up wishing they had never left TV.

I'm a firm believer in riding your TV series till it dies as an actor. Sure, if the show is past its sell by date and its time to put it out its misery then don't hang on for a few more seasons, but until it reaches that point let the good times roll.

You will still have around half of the year to work on other projects after all.

Also, as you said, a lot of other folks are depending on that show for a living. Don't crap all over them. John Goodman could have easily walked away after Roseanne got fired but I imagine he stayed with the project because a lot of the other actors involved aren't in demand as much as he is. He'd have been taking money out of their pockets.

Bitch, please.

You haven’t suffered until a failing series got renewed solely because you got a new high profile job.

But Pierce Brosnan didn’t bitch publicly about missing out on Bond in the mid-80s after Remington Steele got renewed.

Ungrateful count. The movie rolls start drying up, she’ll be sucking dick again for a roll on this show

That show made her a Crazy, Rich Asian. I stopped watching the show, because of the annoying fat kid who plays the oldest son, not because of her.

Ask Pierce Brosnan how he feels about this.

One in particular I remember is David Caruso.

quote:

In 1993, Caruso landed his first major role as Detective John Kelly in the police procedural series NYPD Blue... He made news by leaving the highly rated show the following year after failing to obtain the raise he wanted.

His decision to leave the series would later be listed in a 2010 issue of TV Guide as #6 on a list of TV's 10 biggest "blunders".

He was unable to establish himself as a leading man in films...

In 1997, Caruso returned to television...

Hopefully this childish tirade will give movie folks pause before signing her on to future roles and she learns a very tough lesson for being an ungrateful twat.

I know. Look at Katherine Heigl . She still has a career but burned bridges thinking she was the next thing.

Bryan Cranston is probably the example people should follow. And Viola Davis. Still did tv, no complaints, while doing movies.

She sounds like a total bitch.

The show helped give her enough fame to get other gigs and now she wants it to tank. How about all the other people who need to fricking job. Not everyone can easily move over to the next project.

Seems like she has some Heigl DNA. Selfish and willing to tell the world how selfish she is.

Heigl apparently has a bad case of foot in mouth disease.

There were points to some of the stuff she said but it came off tone deaf as hell, such as trying to pull herself from Emmy consideration for Grey’s Anatomy which ended up becoming “Grey’s writers sucked.”

At least she owned it and didn't claim she was hacked.
