My favorite part of this thread is the people doing all the bitching constantly declaring themselves winners.

I don't know if these nerds ever played sports but it's always the losing team that is doing all the bitching after the game.

Not racist in the least. It’s descriptive. Stop being such a fragile little snowflake. Oh my gosh, are you white? Because calling you a snowflake might be considered racist…

we were talking about the lore and you stopped when you found that legends said the jedi knew about the sith in 181 BBY

I stopped because I literally proved you wrong with stated lore. You kept asking "How does Yoda know? How does Yoda know?" so I showed you.

Every time I provide evidence, you downvote me, ignore what I said, then start fighting with Madking.

Yesterday you said Palpatine knew all about the Lars, the twins, and Luke. When I checked you on that, you downvoted and moved past.

idk what to tell you, but using a description of someone’s race to insult them is racist.

He’s a dishonest kunt. Facts and reality don’t make a dent with this POS.

The Phantom Menace, Jeen discovered the survival of the Sith and the Rule of Two, and he revealed this knowledge to the Jedi before he died. His warnings were noted but not believed until the Invasion of Naboo. Whether they were warned by a fallen Jedi or knew of Bane’s doctrine before the Sith Lord’s death, the Jedi were aware of the Rule of Two before the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

So they knew about the Rule of 2 then they knew about the Sith

And then you ignored the other inconsistency.

If the Jedi all believed the sith were completely eradicated, shouldn’t the force already be in balance? So why is Qui-Gon looking for a chosen one before he ever meets Darth Maul?

Buddy, not using slurs isn’t high and mighty. It’s basic decency.

He's not looking for the Chosen One, he and Obi-Wan are tasked with guarding Padme and they're shot down to Tatooine. He happens upon him when they're marooned trying to get ship parts.

When Anakin shows force abilities, Qui-Gon is intrigued. When he tests his blood, it shows he has more potential than Yoda, who's the Grandmaster of the Jedi. He then believes he found the Chosen One.

They didn’t just ignore his warning. He was a fallen jedi turned by a sith temple telling them he knows about other Siths. The Jedi have to be completely willing to write off dark force users as one offs if they don’t believe this guy.

Which absolutely could happen here. There is so much talk about the Jedi’s appearing weak that they absolutely might supress a the existence of a sith or write him off as a one off dark force user and not actually a sith. Remember we have show to go. they didn’t even know he was a sith till the last minute of the episode.

fine fair enough. I misspoke, you’re right.

again, Chosen for what?

Obi-wan says the Chosen One was supposed to destroy the sith, but prior to seeing darth maul they believed the sith were extinct.

So should they all believe that prophecy was fulfilled?

A prophecy they didn't know was in the process of happening because of what they had become as an order. They knew about the prophecy but it was just one of their many teachings.

I know you hate the prequels, but a major theme of it is that the jedi became blinded to everything and lost their way because they became too comfortable. In Ep1, Windu explicitly states "we're keepers of the peace, not soldiers". By Ep2, the Jedi are generals of the Army of the Republic.

Then there's the scene with Yoda saying they could've misread the prophecy. They were wrong and that's very much part of the story.

this show is sorta about the beginning of the end, were we see the Jedi start to lose their way a bit. I dont know where the show is going, but again, I dint think these ending up with a Jedi coverup to avoid people thinking the sith are back is out of the picture.

Just as a side note, have you ever read rough drafts of the Star Wars Scrawl before a new hope? There is one that goes into serious detail about who the jedi are and its complete different than who they end up being. It’s interesting to see the process.

Almost every story about a prophecy involved people misinterpreting the prophecy.

It’s a tried and true literary devise.

and I have always felt like Jedi and that philosophy is good, but create an establishment and give it power and i will eventually corrupt.
