I mean, that’s not true. The ones aligned with the Dark Side and Sith are pretty consistently considered the bad guy. The Empire is always the bad guy at the end of the day. Even if a member does a good deed, it ultimately serves the greater Evil. Palpatine and his regime is and always will be evil.
The First Order is blatantly depicted as an evil follow-up organization.
The Sequels are very simple in depicting who is bad and who is good.
The Prequels began planting the seeds of flawed Jedi and a corrupt Republic. Megacorporations pullings the strings of political movements. The “good guys” turning into the “bad guys.” And these themes continue being shown in the Clone Wars show as well. Nothing about that is new or a product of Disney telling them what to do.
