What would have happened to the T-800 should he have succeeded in killing Sarah Conner in T-1? What about the T-1000 should he have killed John Conner in T-2? Would he just deactivate? Would he get a job in corporate America?

Wouldn't he cease to exist since his creation would not have been necessary in the alternate universe created by him succeeding in his mission?

become a spokesperson for Capri Sun.

what if they just killed john connor and not sarah? could she then have another kid and make another savior?

I would argue it was impossible for the Terminators to succeed because these events already happened. The timeline was always that the Terminators went back in time and failed in their mission, thus solving the time paradox.

Time is not linear, only our perception of it.

According to the Sarah Conner Chronicles show he would, unless he had a secondary mission. Once the mission is accomplished, they have no purpose until programed with a new mission. Now the secondary mission after killing John Connor may be going on a gun toting rampage though...

In the awful movie known as T3, didn't Ahnold allude to the fact that he succeeded in his mission to kill John Conner in the future and then deactivated, which allowed Catherine to reprogram him to go back in time to save them?
I really wish 3 never happened, though and they used the alternate ending to T2 where blowing up Cyberdyne and destroying all the evidence of Terminators stopped Judgement Day.

I vaguely remember that, but I have not seen T3 but once or twice and it has been a long time since that too. Hell salvations is a better movie than that. As a matter of fact I feel that The Sarah Connor Chronicles is better than T3. I think they created it in between movies however so some stuff didn't gel with the films but thats neither here nor there.

T-1000 would have went further back in time and fathered Johnny Cash..... Not totally convinced Ahnold isn't the T-800. awful lot of wild fires and shite went down in Cali when he was govna that seemed like an attempt to destroy humanity.. just throwing that out there

If he just deactivated who is to say Cyberdyne would not just find his exoskeleton and create more Terminators based off that design?

noone The terminators would probably prefer the technology be found to hasten their creation.

Did they really go back and fail or were they just dreaming the whole thing?
Are these movies supposed to represent the delusions of grandeur a machine might have if given too many human characteristics?

Why not send the T1000 back to kill Sarah Connor's parents? Or kill Sarah Conner when she was a baby or kid?
Or maybe something else was going on...... LINK

The original T-800 led to the advance of Cyberdyne into AI.
I wonder if it had a program to go to the facility or let itself be caught.
By ending up in cyberdine at the end of the first movie, the destroyed t-800 led to the creation of the terminator.
