I have zero interest in Taylor swift’s music or this movie, but sounds like good, clean fun.
I’m convinced there’s a certain population of TD posters that just hate life in general.

They're allergic to joy.
When the alternative is a a veritable army of illiterate, sparkly former hookers chanting "Wet arse pussy", I'm gonna cut the Swifties some slack.

All they have to do is tweet about it from her official account and that's all the marketing they need.
Absolute money printing operation on this.
And with the recording of the concerts, this isn't the only product they'll make from it. I'm sure there will be a documentary auctioned off to the highest bidding streamer. And other things I can't even think of right now.
that's what i told my wife. Pretty much going to add another $500mm+ minimum for some well edited filming of an already occurring concert.
my son is no swiftie, but he has some friends from church who are. a couple of them had a birthday so they did a party bus. most girls went all out, a few didn't. the boys played clash royale, laughed at the theatrics of the girls in theater and fell asleep before it was over.
i'm no fan of TS, but i applaud her and her team's strategy. absolute brilliance for a talented but mid-tier singer and performer. masterclass in capitalism.

she's definitely a better alternative to WAP and that filth, but let's not pretend like she doesn't have some garbage lyrics and political messages as well.

Oh, I couldn't agree more with arguing against blatant manipulation of her platform to convince impressionable young women to think/vote the way she does.

Say what you will about her, but she had a genius marketing and ad team
Ever since she got burned when she was young she now owns everything and won’t use a distributor.
She owns all of this film. My daughters went and theaters are selling the same plastic cup from the tour and it’s a $4 up charge. Both my kids got one and they said every person there had one.
Pretty genius

The damn popcorn bucket was sold out and now my 8 year old is begging me to let her go see it again so she can get the bucket

Cost of a concert ticket > cost of a movie ticket.
By a huge amount.

Im sure her social media is littered with woke bs, or at the very least left leaning stuff, but I hear her music on the radio all the time and don't recall anything remotely political.
Its just typical bubble gum pop.

I sneered so hard at these girls and their cowboy hat wine moms as I strolled confidently into Paw Patrol

You need to calm down.

And now Apple TV+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney Plus are all bidding to win the streaming rights to the film. Any guesses on what that will bring in??

Good for her. She should make as much money as she can, because someday, just like everyone, she will be a has been, until she is much older and the come back/nostalgia tour happens.

Studio execs are so butthurt right now.
From a few articles, it looks like the “concert movie” cost around $15m to make, (*eq to about the gross take of one of her live concerts) was shot in August and turned around very quickly for the October release.
Her team said screw using a studio middle man, and negotiated around 45-50% gross box office directly while still getting to sell the streaming rights after a 13 week theater run.
Not a bad weekend for the Swift family enterprise.

so the high numbers don't actually tell you if it's she puts on a good show.
I would imagine the millions of people on social media talking about how fun/great her shows are, are a pretty good indicator.

Disney apparently spent $75m to buy the streaming rights to a filmed version of the play Hamilton.
I imagine that’s a much smaller niche audience than TSwift has.
