Xander and Evie totally misplayed that tribal. Once Xander won immunity he should’ve gone back to the beach and given Evie his hidden idol in front of everybody and said she’s playing it. It’s between you 3. Then wait for the scramble, go to deshaun and tell him he has to vote Liana or he’s going home, and then not have Evie play the idol. There’s no way the 3 of them stuck together if Evie has an idol around her neck.

Agreed, I thought that was the obvious play.
I guess X would have been too nervous because EV could have played it, but like he said, that tribal was more about the rest of the game than just one vote.
Now he pretty much has no route to the final other than winning every immunity and one save from his idol.
Just don’t see any way the dominant four don’t make it to the end at this point.
And why is old lady so fricking stupid??? When Shan was trying to work out a deal and she said I just don’t want this to come back on me she said “Well it might”

Xander obviously didn't really trust Evvie... certainly not enough to give her the idol even as a bluff.
What really confuses me is why didn't Evvie play her shot in the dark?
If the vote is 3-2 against her, then she has nothing to lose by risking her vote to potentially stay safe. If Danny and DeShawn both turn on Liana then it would still be 3-1 on Liana if Evvie gives up her vote for a shot at guaranteed safety. The only way it doesn't work out is if only DeShawn switches, then she gives up her vote, doesn't get the safety, and it's 2-2 for Liana and Evvie. Then it's a toss up and I don't know which way it would go. But still, that's 2/3 scenarios in which it's a positive play.

I think she just had full faith in Deshawn, which at this stage of the game is pretty dumb.

Totally agree. I think the "Power 4" will start imploding even more now but until they do, they are in control of the game.

So no one has any thoughts on Shan using her extra vote but splitting them???
My brain legitimately cannot fathom even the slightest justification for doing that???

My only thought is she and Ricard wanted to create a tie to try and hide from Naseer who flipped. But I was kind of tired while watching. They likely overthought it.

Yeah, that was incredibly dumb.
She knew that Heather and Erika were voting for Naseer.
She knew that Naseer was voting for Heather.
If Ricard votes for Naseer then her split does no good because Naseer goes home anyway. If Ricard votes for Heather (he did) then her split just creates a tie and then Naseer goes home anyway on the revote, which happened.
If Naseer plays his idol, then Heather goes home anyway.
The only thing that she might have been thinking... is that Heather and Erika had convinced Naseer to help them blindside her. So she was throwing a Heather vote out there and she was prepared to play her idol IF Naseer played his as well. I still think that's a stretch, because if those three were planning on blindsiding her, then she would have had to put both votes on Heather to create a tie or she's going home regardless unless she plays her idol.
So yeah, dumb. Don't understand wasting that when you aren't personally at risk.

Naseer really should have seen that coming and worked with Heather and Erika. They could have sent Shan home with an idol in her pocket and punch a hole in the New Zealand All Blacks alliance.

You have the value of hindsight and the fact that you get to listen to all the convos. Evie had no idea that Deshawn wasn't gonna come through on what he said.
The biggest mistake they made was telling Danny their plan. If they don't tell him, then he never convinces DeShawn to vote Evie.
Also everything Danny said about Evie being dangerous was true about Liana too but Liana is more dangerous cuz she has friends.

If they don't tell Danny, then DeShawn does... better to tell him yourself. They just couldn't convince him. And when you can't convince Danny to go along with it, you should have suspicions that DeShawn isn't on board as well... but yeah that's hindsight and looking in from outside.
Side note... Danny, Shan, and Erika are still "perfect" down to 8 players.

I still can't understand why they haven't gotten rid of Shan.
They moan and complain about how everything HAS to be her way, and they just let her keep doing it! She could so easily have been gotten rid of last night!

I wonder if they view her as so unlikable that she'll be a good person to sit next to at the end?
At this point, I want either Danny or Xander to win, with DeShawn close behind. Erika and Heather haven't done enough to deserve it, I don't like Ricard or Liana, and I really don't like Shan.

Agree that Xander should have played or at least faked his idol for Evvie. But at tribal Evvie seemed EXTREMELY confident that Liana was going home, so I assume Xander felt equally confident. But Xander knew that this tribal was critical to his game moving forward, so he shouldn’t have left it to chance. Opportunity lost. This one could have been pivotal - especially with Naseer going home instead of Heather, since he was sort of part of the big alliance.

Xander should have bluffed using the idol... but he knows that as soon as he plays it he's a sitting duck. Smart I think to hold on to it for another week.
Now that Naseer is out, I assume another idol will be in play... would be awesome if Xander could find that one too.

so it's 3-2 on naseer with no extra vote played. if heather and erika vote shan, it's 2-2-1, naseer uses his idol, shan is out.
with the extra vote played on heather, it makes sure that at worst it's 2-2-2 shan-heather-naseer and then even if naseer uses his idol, heather is out on the re-vote.
basically they made sure that either heather or naseer was going home no matter what.
so it's 3-2 on naseer with no extra vote played. if heather and erika vote shan, it's 2-2-1, naseer uses his idol, shan is out.
